Clear File Clearout!

Woohoo!! I switched to Firefox and all my uploading problems disappeared! I can embed again as well!

My colleague and computer supporter pointed me in this direction since he wants some of my Clear Files, I better showcase them now before they disappear.

First up, Puella Magi Madoka Magica:

A couple of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure:

A few Shakugan no SHANA:

A Natsuiro Kiseki:

Several Strike Witches:

In case you're wondering, I cannot tell the difference between any of the above anime!

A bunch of Doraemon:

More Rirakuma than anyone should have:

I have a handful more that I'll Clear the air with tomorrow...

Blogger's Improvements.

Once again I'm frustrated with Blogger (and any other networking site) that adds "improvements" that I can't figure out how to use. I used to be able to upload photos but now I can't. Here are my options:
From this blog: Why would I want to put up photos that I've already put up previously?

From Picasa Web Albums: I tried to set up an account but I had too many hoops to jump through (ultimately ending in a purchase.)

From your phone: I can't do it because I have an iphone and not an Android.

From your webcam: This is possible but does that mean I have to hold up whatever I want to photograph next to my webcam?

From a URL: I want to put up MY photos, not somebody elses.

I can't embed Youtube videos any longer. I can open one chosen video from Youtube via Blogger but then any further videos have to be linked to and not be embedded.

Unless I can overcome these obstacles, I'm afraid that my entries will be few and far between. I just don't have anything interesting to say unless it's accompanied by a goofy photo!

Pictured: A goofy photo.

That being said, here is my lone video:

These are some of the photos I wanted to show you of some フランケンウィニー Frankenweenie goods. But all I can do is provide a link of the capsules I wanted to showcase. I have other pics but they have to remain secret for now.

IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME WITH MY ABOVE PREDICAMENT, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!

Ozu, The Beginning Battle.

I still have three months to wait for Oz, The Great and Powerful or as it's known in Japan,
オズ はじまりの戦い or Oz, The Beginning Battle.

監督：サム・ライミ (Director: Samu Raimi)
出演：ジェームズ・フランコ、ミシェル・ウィリアムズ、レイチェル・ワイズ、ミラ・クニス
(Actors: Jyamuzu Furanko, Misheru Uiriamzu, Reicheru Uizu, Mira Kunisu.)
The trailer makes mention of "Alice in Wonderland" (production?) and Sam Raimi's last big shit hit, "Spiderman 3".

At the above link you can find the website and if you click the News, you'll see that a handful of kids were given the Japanese translation of the original book from Santa Claus.

For some reason, I'm unable to figure out how to upload photos. Everytime Blogger improves, I get screwed. I wanted to show you this deck of magic cards but I can't figure out how to do so. I received two decks of cards when I picked up my advanced tickets to the flick. March 8th can't come too soon.

New Beginnings.

I had hoped to give a year-end review of my life, my blog, movies, etc but then yesterday while cooking I blew a fuse and my computer got fried. A colleague helped me install Windows 7 (from the archaic XP) and I now have a working computer again! Unfortunately all the photos that I'd saved have disappeared, as well as music, favourites, etc.etc.

I've uploaded some old ones from my phone so I'm going to take a trial run now and present them here.

This huge poster is in the lobby of the Movix Cinema that I attended yesterday. A rather OZpicious start to the New Year, isn't it?

I saw Frankenweenie for the third time except this time I saw it in 3D. The only way to see it in 3D is to see it in Japanese. I thought the dubbing was very well done, the lip synching was on cue and the younger audience seemed to enjoy it. My only quibble is that the three characters voiced by Martin Short and Andrea Martin were voiced by six different Japanese actors.

I also saw 妖怪人間ベム (Yokai Ningen Bem). It's based on an old anime, and I really need to track down that show.

(Note: I've run into an impasse and can no longer embed properly. It'll take me a while to figure it out again.)

I enjoyed it a lot (the only slow parts were with the humans) and the action, make-up and effects were magnificent. Even the kids were less annoying than most child actors!

While I was in the mall, I saw a dog waiting to be groomed. It was the most pathetic looking beast I've ever seen! Tongue askew and shivering, it was one frightened pup.

More New Year's Eve/Day news tomorrow.

Happy Kaiju Year!

As the Year of the Dragon ends, what can we look forward to next year?

Enjoy the New Year with lots of monsters!

Bad movie, good teaser.

Good movie, so so teaser.

This is so silly, it's terrific!

If like Indy you suffer from ophidiophobia, you'll dread the forthcoming year.

ME? I love the slimy little legless wonders, so bring on the Year of the Snake!

Thunderbirds Are Gone.

Last July I picked up the first two volumes of the Gerry Anderson SFX DVD Collection. In honour of Mr. Anderson's passing today, here are some highlights from the first two volumes.

Each mag comes with two DVDs. One has two episodes of Thunderbirds and the other has two episodes of either Captain Scarlet, Stingray, Joe 90 or UFO.

I also have a nifty binder in which one is supposed put the pages from each show.

These are the dividers used to separate the pages.

I like these behind the scenes photos of Gerry and Sylvia at work. True professionals.

I am not at all familiar with Joe 90, barely aware of UFO and for Stingray, I only recall the theme song. I caught some Captain Scarlet on our Superchannel a while back but of course Thunderbirds is the Super Super-Marionated show.

Too bad this wasn't such an expensive way to compile the collection, or I'd get them all.

In addition to Gerry Anderson, we also lost Jack Klugman and Charles Durning. Not a very merry Christmas for some.
