A Geezer Sees a Geyser.

In desperate need of exercise, a friend and I trekked out to Minami-Sanriku and checked out the ocean. Yup, it's still there.

We got a closeup of it and I had fun skipping rocks and watching the waves.

While I was skipping, my colleague spent several minutes setting up the perfect shot for his Blockhead.

I wasted a few seconds taking a video of the lapping waves.

Not much walking had been accomplished so we took a short hike to the nearby Kamiwarizaki Campground. I am fairly certain that I had been there before about 18 years ago. But I was younger then and my memory ain't what it used to be.

Don't pick the flowers!

I surreptitiously snapped a photo of Dan (the man), building a little rock pile. It turned out okay.

Next he kidnapped me yet again and took me to another unknown site. It was cute little parkette called Iwaisaki Park in Kessenuma. Apart from this Orange dude with plus and minus antennae, there is a Salt Making Center there (click that link), which was unfortunately closed. (Stupid virus!)

Another striking view of the ocean, but this time with a twist. When the waves splash against the rocks, a mini-geyser is created.

Down near the shore, a couple of families were gathering up samples of sea water and sand, probably for Science experiments later in the week. I pried a starfish off a rock and gave it to one family. They weren't impressed.

I skipped a few more rocks. (I miss doing that.)

In addition to the geyser, there is also a tree that resembles a dragon. If you squint at it at the right angle, you can make it out.

Oh yeah, there's also a statue of a Sumo wrestler for some reason.*

I brought Shin-kun along and he tried to gobble up the Sumo and take a sip of geyser juice. Not very successful.

Not a bad day overall, and I did get in several more steps than just sitting at home.

Even better, on the way home we popped into a Seiyu so I could score some new Gojira-Gatcha. I managed to land 3/4 but at 5 bucks a pop, it was too expensive to try for the set. I ended up with triples of the red one on the left.

UPDATE: I scored the fourth one today but I also got yet another Red One!
