GONEvember.

Alas, another GOvember has come and gone. I didn't manage to blog something new everyday, but it was close. I still have a ton of other items to show off. Maybe for Christmas...

On my drive to Kitakami today, I was chasing rainbows.

Every time I saw a rainbow, it had diminished or disappeared once I got out of my car.

Here is what I acquired yesterday and today. A 1954 Gojira in Colour poster and B&W versions.

I picked up a pair of socks today and also won a Chibi!

I really wanted a fire-breathing one, but the claw was uncooperative.

And this Minus One was on sale at Toys Am Us!

Not a bad haul. Fortunately, I picked up a large shelf today for only 5 bucks, although I'm not sure where I'll put it.

M3GAN is my new AI Friend. Though she was crawling away to escape me.

I'd also like her to do the Strange Dance for me.

I met an Alien, Elvis and a Predator.

And I was a predator.

I'll have to wait until March 7th for my next Wicked encounter with her.

All in all a pretty good day. (Alas, the Oni Museum was closed when I got there. Ah well, next time.)

Seize Her!

I've been a busy boy, so just a quick update to pacify what few fans I have.

This box of King Caesar (キングシーサー Kingu Shīsā) is the bees knees. Which do YOU prefer, A or B? (I feel B is a tad more menacing.)

I decided to pop open the box and see what he looks like. Yup, all red eyeballs are more menacing.

He'd make a nice pair of bookends.

This song is pretty good.

Inside the box is a qr code that takes me to the Banpresto prize site. Hey they have this Chibi figure I won a while back.

Oh, heck, I have to get going. After a wedding tomorrow morning, I'll have a ton of free time. So more GOvember goodies then.

Deck The Halls.

When I was in Toho Cinema the other day, I saw an ad for Chibi-Godzilla and wondered what it's all about.

It's for Chibi short videos that can be seen on the official Godzilla YouTube Channel.

Whoa, there sure are a lot of them!

Hey, Godzilla -1 in monochrome is back! I'm still waiting to find a version with English Subs.

What is very cool is the deck of cards they have on sale. (NO Trump does not mean Trump!)

If I didn't already have this set, I'd probably get a deck.

The Jokers are Oxygen Destroyers!

My Twitch channel showed a smattering of Monster Movies so I watched Meg, Monster Hunter, and Troll. Cheeesy yes, but that yummy kind of cheese.

I don't get into much sportball these days, yet Kudos to Toronto's own Argooooos!

I need to get around to watching this highlight reel.

My best memory of an Argos game was watching the Blues Brothers (With James Belushi) play at halftime back when John Candy co-owned the team. (Although I may be misremembering...)

Rocky as Pocky!

Today is "Pocky Day" in Japan. (In case you hadn't noticed, Pocky are long and could be used as a 1.)

Ages ago, I scored an inflatable Pocky and use it annually to bonk students on the head when they get an answer wrong. (And I'm still getting away with it!)

Once at Sendai station, they had a giant Pockage (Pocky Package) and I became a best selling snack, "Rocky Pocky"!

It is also of course "Poppy Day" and I read the poem "In Flanders Fields" to one class that feigned interest and the other that didn't give a hoot. At least this year, I discovered a Japanese translation so maybe they'll learn something. My Poppy ha seen better days, I've lost the pin.

I also handed out some freebies that were appreciated and a few gals returned the favour and gave me snacks.

The Pretz were for those who don't like chocolate.

I saved this one for myself.

I took the weekend off from blogging, but not from Govembering. I watched 2/3 of the Mothra trilogy and a cool documentary. Here is part 1, I'm sure you can find the other parts as well.

I'm nearing the end of another mini-marathon of truncated 60/70s movies that excise most of the talky bits and only show the action. Check out Toho Champion Festival for details and a few trailers. The fine folks at DaiKaiju TeeVee are showing most of the movies.

To wrap up, here is a Chibi-Godzilla that I won at UFO Catcher today. Adorbs!*

* I promise to never use the term "adorbs" again!

Happy Remembrance Day!

Breaking News!

Today at noon, the Godzilla YouTube channel hosted a Godzilla Day 70th Anniversary Fest with several guests, and goodies to be sold in the near future.

As you will see, I snapped a whole bunch of photos from my TV screen.

Up first was this stuffed toy, a recreation of the Oxygen Destroyer. Kids will have hours of fun with this!

A new figure will be released with a fleshy and bony version available.

Uniqlo is collaborating with Toho to produce several new shirts, but online only. There's a mini movie at that link showing the products.

And they've also come out with a line of Chibi-Godzilla Ts and things.

I'll be heading to the supermarket shortly to see if I can find some of these products.

I'm not sure but it seems that some of the products get some upscale packaging.

Not to be outdone, those little panda biscuits are hooking up with Godzilla and friends, though it seems it's only for the packaging, not the cookies themselves.

And more upscale packaging (I think you have to order online.)

I just found the site, Pandamonium! it's 1180 per box!

But there are only 1000 of them, so it might be worth your while. If you can figure out how to order.

My bucket list item is to go here. Of course, my heart may give out on the zip-line and I'll kick the bucket, but it'd be worth it!

I need to go before March!

There is going to be an Art Exhibit at Parco Tokyo. Looks like a big deal.

Something else I need to check out is the crossover with Kaiju 8. I don't know much about it, though it appears to have a Kaiju in it. (Here's mine)

Even Chibi-Godzilla gets in on the act.

Finally there appears to be a special item for sale, one of the spikes from Godzilla's back.

And it's a bargain at only 90,000 yen!

If you'd like to watch this yourself, you can go to the Godzilla channel.

Go to the 23:30 mark for a little movie about the Art Show.

If I see any of the food items, I'll let you know. NOT in my local supermarket yet...
