It's the finale of GOvember!

While I'm typing this, I have Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah: All Out Monster Attack on in the background. I don't mind them making Godzilla the villain, but I do take umbrage at allowing Ghidorah to be one of the Guardian saviours. (Oops. Spoiler.)

Anyway, for the last day, I saved some vinyl figures from way back in 2004 in the Final Wars days. Iwakura/Bullmark put these colourful figures in a box and urged one to buy them up. I did so. Furthermore, HMV also had a slightly more colourful version of the same 10 figures (plus one secret.)

I'm still missing a few, but for now, here is round one. HMV on the left, regular on the right.

I'm missing the Secret ones as well, they go for a pretty penny so I suspect they were Very rare. HMV has a coloured Gorosaurus, the regular ones have a coloured Megalo.

Round 2 came out the following year, starting with Godzilla naturally which unfortunately has eluded me.

Black Light Friday.

 Oops. It's Saturday, not Friday. Blame a busy Black Friday and then a temperamental pc when I got home. Furthermore, I had an early Saturday morning Santa gig that forced me to go to bed. (It did NOT force me to sleep, insomniac Michael strikes again.)

It was trickier photographing these GitD* figures than I thought it'd be.

Let's look at them illuminated and then with the lights out. Starting with hideous Hedorah (possibly my favourite.)

The nemesis of Godzilla in Final Wars is the malevolent Monster X!

This creature transforms into the ghastly King Ghidorah. 

The final item in this set is the goofy Gotengo, the battle cruiser used by the Earth Defense Force (EDF) to initially oppose Godzilla and later fight Manda.

I bought this set from HMV back when Final Wars was released yet kept it unopened until earlier today. I tried selling it just to see how much I'd get (online it's expensive to buy now) but my dealer only offered me 700 yen! So screw that, I'm opening these up and enjoying their glowiness before I drift off into slumberland nightly.
