Fear the Walking Dearth.

Just a quickie, I have to go out tonight and won't have time to ramble on later. So here are a bunch of Zombies for you perusal.

There are about 14 different Zombies and each capsule contained two. As you can see, the colours varied but I think I managed to get at least one of each little dude.

The chubby one is my favourite.

The last movie in this Bela-thon is White Zombie, one of the better ones of these ten.

Here's a list of the 25 best Zombie movies as reviewed by Empire magazine. I've seen all but one in the top 15 and only one of the rest in the list. I'll have to put Rec on my watch-list for sure.

I showed my students Zombieland last month and apart from a few giggles in the right places, few of the 18 gals (and one guy) seemed to enjoy it. I scammed a list of the top Rules and adapted them to our lesson, equating them to scenarios one might come across in an Airport setting.

Top Rules for Zombieland

Rule #1: Cardio - The ability to outrun zombies is crucial for survival.

カーディオ

Rule #2: Double Tap - Always double-check if a zombie is truly dead by shooting it again.

ダブルタップ

Rule #3: Beware of Bathrooms - Never let your guard down in small, enclosed spaces like bathrooms where a zombie could be hiding.

トイレに注意

Rule #4: Buckle Up - Fasten your seatbelts, as the ride is sure to be bumpy.

シートベルト

Rule #5: Travel Light - Only carry what you need; unnecessary items will only slow you down.

執着しない

Rule #6: Don't Be a Hero - Avoid taking unnecessary risks for no real gain.

ヒーローになるな (ヒーローになれ – 破るためにあるルールもある。(ルール更新))

Rule #7: Limber up.

体をほぐせ

Rule #8: When In Doubt, Know Your Way Out - Always have an escape route in mind.

迷ったら、逃げ道を知っておけ

Rule #9: Check the Back Seat - Always inspect the back seat of a vehicle before getting in.

後部座席を確認しろ

Rule #10: Enjoy the Little Things - Take time to appreciate small moments to maintain your sanity.

小さなことを楽しめ

In groups of two or three, change the above rules to an Airport setting, not a Zombie Apocalypse.

This at least gave me an excuse to show the movie.

Did you like Marvel Zombies? I thought it was good and gory.

Last night, I finished off the last two episodes of Season 3 of the Daryl and Carol Walking Dead show and it finished satisfactorily.

While watching, I ate some more fingerings (that still doesn't sound right.)

They were tasty, I've always enjoyed a good finger ring.

Today's Oni is NOT a zombie, but turns out to be rather a nice helpful chap. Must be the horns that turn you nasty.  心やさしいオオヒトKokoro yasashii Oohito

I'm going to do some scouting for our Halloween party tonight. It looks like we may need a bigger venue based on the amount of interest that has been shown. But I can't get up to any hijinx, I have to get up really early and drive to Kitakami!

Continuing on today's Zombie theme, check out The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Orrin Grey. Some cool stuff over there.

Werewolf Wednesday!

Today has been a hectic one, what with a perilous journey to work today and a landslide alert!

My lesson ended at noon and the rain stopped a little later but the ride home was fraught with flooded streets. I was forced to drive through a flooded area and it did a number on my car window. I couldn't roll it back up! (Do we still use the term "roll up" for automatic windows?) ALL of the Yellow Hat service stations were closed, I can only surmise that the staff were put on flood duty. I managed to find two staff who hadn't yet departed and they helped me raise my window. Phew!

Anyway, The Countdown to Halloween  begins, click there to find participating bloggers and here for Instagrammers. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do this month, haphazard as always! Let's start with my Mandalorian Calendar entry for October. Not very spooky, Grogu rides a Blurrg.

I bought a cool looking book on sale, hoping to have a spooky pic a day from it. I should have inspected it more closely, it's an Oni Encyclopedia.

Still, there should be enough in there for me to scam from. Werewolf Wednesday is a bust, there are no vulpine creatures in it. Best I can do is this cool Monkey Demon

The 猿鬼 Saru-Oni is from the Noto Region of the Ishikawa Prefecture and is a large monkey with a horn on its head and is unaffected by normal arrow-fire.

Fortunately, it was dispatched by Kamisugihime using a special demon decapitator.

Here's a rendition of it from the Gegege page.

Okay, so today's Gatcha/UFO Catcher creature IS a Werewolf, courtesy of Kaibutsu-Kun.

My treat today was a different canine, unfortunately it does not have ZERO calories.

Hey, I just realized. I'm wearing a Werewolf T-Shirt today!

Today's video experience was Walking Dead starring Daryl and Carol. No Werewolves but some lovely fiery Walkers!
AND I'm going to start watching this, though I may give up soon after it starts.

Night Carnage!

I'll let you know how it turns out.

I'll leave you with a link to Caffeinated Joe, you may find something there to your liking.

See ya tomorrow...

Save Us, Godziham-kun!

I don't follow the news much though it appears that an ill wind is blowing Stateside. Therefore, I'm going to send a cheerier side of Godzilla, his collaboration with Hamtaro as Godziham-kun

Here are several items that I scored from the 390¥ Mart. (3 9 = San Kyu = Thank You Mart).

My new mouse-pad.

The Welcome Mat at my front stoop.

A lint roller to keep my suit spotless.

A small tote bag.

A pouch to keep my stuff from jangling in my tote bag.

A rubber coaster.

Two key chains.

Finally, a tiny pillow upon which to rest my weary head.

I'm going to go back to watching the Daryl Dixon spinoff from Walking Dead. It's less depressing.

Who should have been running...

ps. RiP to Quincy Jones, producer of Thriller amongst innumerable other works.

 See You Next Wednesday!

Pumpkin Wrecks.

I mentioned in the last post that I found a cheapish pumpkin, just right for carving into the perfect Jack o' Lantern. When I got it home, I discovered that it was afflicted with kabi. (Mould!)

It was soft and mushy. This will be a tough carve. At least I got some funky face stickers!

And a cool box.

So around 10:00 am, I put on some Twitch movies (starting with The House on Haunted Hill, I know this movie well, so I don't need to pay much attention) and researched some templates hoping to salvage this gourd.

I chose my quarry and starting digging into my kabocha. I had an awful lot of mould to excise.

Lots of seeds and guts later, I was underway.

(By this time, HoHH was over and the next movie, Gargoyles, had begun.)

More cutting and it started to look a bit like its template. (Fast forward, lots of cutting and scooping and swearing and now it's time for the third movie, Queen of Blood.) I'd never seen QoB and say is that Dennis Hopper? John Saxon too!

I'm done and using this movie as a soundtrack, filmed a three second video. I showed that plus some photos to a few friends and they were unable to identify my creation.

Oh well. I decided to do a ton of laundry and wait until dark so I can get a better view of my sculpture.

Have you got it yet? Think of as being green and watch this short. Still no go? Thus the title of today's post, Pumpkin Wrecks.

I'll identify it later...

I watched the latest episode of Fear of the Walking Dead and though not great, it was still better than Daryl!

I popped a beer and watched the new colourized version of Werewolf by Night.

Damn! It wasn't in colour! Oh well. This will become an annual Halloween experience for me.
And then drank another one while I organized my socks and watched SNL. (I actually smiled once or twice, as opposed to last weeks yawnfest. Highlights, Mick Frickn Jagger!!)

I should have saved the 9-tailed Fox for the same day as a Werewolf. Oh well.

No matter, let me introduce Nuppeppo. He just an ugly lump of flesh (much like my pumpkin guts!)  He also stinks and if you hear his song, you'll instantly turn into an old man. (HA! Too late!)

Today's Venom. (I hope I'm not repeating any.) Ooh. Sparkly!

I shall now reveal the template of my Pumpkin. Did I do it justice?

More pumpkins over at fellow Blogger, October Branches. No wrecks there!
