Werewolf Wednesday!

Today has been a hectic one, what with a perilous journey to work today and a landslide alert!

My lesson ended at noon and the rain stopped a little later but the ride home was fraught with flooded streets. I was forced to drive through a flooded area and it did a number on my car window. I couldn't roll it back up! (Do we still use the term "roll up" for automatic windows?) ALL of the Yellow Hat service stations were closed, I can only surmise that the staff were put on flood duty. I managed to find two staff who hadn't yet departed and they helped me raise my window. Phew!

Anyway, The Countdown to Halloween  begins, click there to find participating bloggers and here for Instagrammers. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do this month, haphazard as always! Let's start with my Mandalorian Calendar entry for October. Not very spooky, Grogu rides a Blurrg.

I bought a cool looking book on sale, hoping to have a spooky pic a day from it. I should have inspected it more closely, it's an Oni Encyclopedia.

Still, there should be enough in there for me to scam from. Werewolf Wednesday is a bust, there are no vulpine creatures in it. Best I can do is this cool Monkey Demon

The 猿鬼 Saru-Oni is from the Noto Region of the Ishikawa Prefecture and is a large monkey with a horn on its head and is unaffected by normal arrow-fire.

Fortunately, it was dispatched by Kamisugihime using a special demon decapitator.

Here's a rendition of it from the Gegege page.

Okay, so today's Gatcha/UFO Catcher creature IS a Werewolf, courtesy of Kaibutsu-Kun.

My treat today was a different canine, unfortunately it does not have ZERO calories.

Hey, I just realized. I'm wearing a Werewolf T-Shirt today!

Today's video experience was Walking Dead starring Daryl and Carol. No Werewolves but some lovely fiery Walkers!
AND I'm going to start watching this, though I may give up soon after it starts.

Night Carnage!

I'll let you know how it turns out.

I'll leave you with a link to Caffeinated Joe, you may find something there to your liking.

See ya tomorrow...

Kaibutsing Around.

I know it should be Kibitzing around but I needed the pun in the title. Several years ago, I won a couple of figures at UFO Catcher (click the link to see which two) and recently I purchased a set of Kaibutsu-Kun figures from 1992!

Kaibutsu-Kun

Dracula and Franken above and Ookami-Otoko below.

If you want to learn more about KK, I featured him Countdown to Halloween 2013, so be sure to click the Kaibutsu-Kun label at the bottom of this post.

Since I'm on a nostalgia kick, here is a picture of me from the ONI Museum from a few years back. Do I look a bit like Franken above?

Starting October 24-31, there'll be a Halloween Story Fair at Fujisaki Department store called, "MIYAKO NO MORI SENDAI". It will feature treats and crafts and a cool-looking Kokeshi Herbarium.

Here's today's Eko Eko Azarak postcard. I'm running out of these so I hope I find some more material before month's end.

I gotta say, that is one of the best pics yet!

One of my schools has a huge pumpkin with a construction-papered face.

Above the emergency exit is this huge spider (one of the largest I've ever seen of this species, the photos do not do it justice). If anyone should ever need to open this door, they're in for a surprise!

Here's a link to a fellow Cryptkeeper who appears to have tons of decorative ideas, Something wicKED this way comes.

Finally, I bought a drink today and I must admit that I'm really proud of this pun:
Wapitea!

Where Eagles Dare.

I never thought I'd let Sports get in the way of Halloween but our team, the Pacific League Champion Rakuten Eagles are in the middle of a World Konami Japan Final Series. We lost, we won, we won again big time and today we lost. So the game is tied at two games a piece!

What follows is my reaction to the fourth game.

I have another Halloween party tomorrow night and rather than listen to the live bands and partake in Devil's Night, I'm more interested in watching the fifth game of the series.

Here is the club I used to pummel the Giants' mascot senseless.

When they won the Pacific, I picked up a care package that included this bag, a towel and a mug. Not a bad deal for 3000.

My friend Kelly's mom's friend gave me a cool scarf the last time I went to the game with them. I used it to hang the mascot in effigy. I hope that'll bring us luck for tomorrow!

To bring this back to the Countdown to Halloween, here are some pumpkin pictures that my grade 1s drew.

Pretty creepy for 6-7 year olds. Speaking of pumpkins, I managed to get one carved last night. It's my first theme pumpkin instead of just a creepy face. I initially assumed it'd be Spider-Man but a friend pointed out it resembles Strongbad!

Stupid Giants game cut into my blogging time so I'll just show you some figures of Kaibutsu-Kun and friends.

Tonight's snack is not very Halloweeny but it is Eaglish. Some Rakuten Eagles senbei cracker.!

Tomorrow night is THE night. What with my party, another ballgame, work and occasionally sleeping, I'm not sure when it'll get posted. Hopefully tomorrow!!

Stylish At Stylus.

Here are some of the pics of peoples at Saturday's parties.
Today, the Work-related gang at a small but comfortable restaurant/mini-club called Stylus. The winners of Funniest, most Horrific, Sexiest, Lamest, and Best Gal and Best Guy.

What follows are random photos of the rest of the gang, starting with the host of the gig.

That last guy is James Bond, kudos to he, Tracy and another who joined us at Ernie's* afterwards.

Here are a couple of pumpkins from today's Grade 1s. Not as off the wall as the Grade 3s but there is some potential here...

Today's Kaibutsu Kun is really long, so I'm just going to show the first and last pages. Chances are no one will miss the entire story. A Giant Kaiju-Penguin attacks!

Tonight's snack was actually tonight's dinner, a bit of Halloween Pasta! YUMMY!!

* Pics of Ernie's Party tomorrow!!
