In The Can.

After receiving a power drink from the Graveyard yesterday, I was inspired to scan a whole bunch of other cans that I have collected over the years. My precious antique cans include a can of Samurai Apple Juice from Aomori.










This Warholian lemonade is almost too sour even for me. Yummy but it had a limited run and is nowhere to be found. I've noticed that all of the sour drinks that I enjoy tend to disappear shortly after I try them. Foul temptress!








I also have a few cans of ウルトラ・サイダー (Ultra-Cider) that are a bit too sugary for my palette but I suppose the kiddies are the target audience.




























I don't know the difference between the Final Fantasy Elixir and the FF Potion, but then again I don't know the difference between FFs I-XIII either. The illustrations are awful purty though!












They are darned expensive though at 2 bucks a pop. At the supermarket yesterday, I discovered this Elixir that includes a figure. They normally retail for several hundred yen and this was only 168￥!




























I haven't bought a lot of beer lately. I never drink alone and since no one visits me (Awww), I don't have much brew on hand, but I couldn't resist this 2-pack of Yebisu since I got a free deck of cards.









Speaking of beer, we haven't checked into Follower The Brew King in awhile. What's he been up to?




No big surprise there, he's enjoying a beer! I wonder if he's ever tried out a bit of Chocolate in his Hops? I'll have to ask him. (BTW, I know this is a bottle of beer and not a can...work with me here, folks.)









I don't know why Chopper would be a peach beverage, but I suppose there is little call for reindeer-flavour.












I don't drink much coffee, so you may Wonda why I bought this. Well, because it comes with a Lego-esque giraffe of course!









Speaking of coffee though, you have to admit that these Samurai covered コーヒー are pretty cool looking, eh!





My pride and joy though, has to be my several different GeGeGe-Gulps. You can only find them at Highway pitstops or in specialty shops at highly inflated prices. Fellow fan and friend Derek gave me about a dozen and adding these to the few I already own has amassed a few doubles, though they make a nice panoramic showcase, don't they? There are several different flavours, such as grape, lemon, apple and mixed drinks.

Oh, Behave!

Today is 建国記念の日or National Foundation Day so click on either of those links to find out more about it. Needless to say, while everyone else at work has a 4-day weekend, I have to work tomorrow at my out of town business lesson. Regardless, I've enjoyed a nice lazy day today watching Tom Selleck portray Jesse Stone. It's nice to see a whole lot of Canadian veterans making cameos as villains of the week, I can't wait to espy the next one.

The proudest and newest addition to my collection is this Davis Graveyard home brew from Halloweener and Follower, The Frog Queen who promised me one of her potions as a prize yonks ago (some prizes sat in her car for awhile but finally arrived to Japan Post last Friday, I got my paws on it yesterday.) I think I'll get off my arse and reciprocate the prize I promised her and a few fellow Followers this weekend.







I also got this funky frog.












And a pair of KitKats. She really has been following closely! It tastes rather strange, sort of a plain KitKatish flavour, not quite as exotic as the ones I'm used to.





I was interested to see that it's produced by HR Reese (a Hershey's subsidiary) and not by Nestle like its Japanese cousins are. Furthermore check out the calorie count 210 compared to a plain flavoured one from here which is only 96cal.








Speaking of sweet snacks, Pocky has an odd campaign going on right now with these Popteens such as Kumiko Funayama promoting what appears to be Nail-art on your pretzel stick either for decorative or edible reasons. It's called デコポッキ though I just cracked open a pack and they're just plain old chocolate sticks. Yawn!

Other saltier comestibles include some Evangelion nachos or cheesies that include a little sticker. I have NO idea what it means, but it's now gracing my pc's hard-drive.




Lawsons has a push on One Piece stuff, I picked up some barbecue snack and karaage chicken balls.









But if I eat more of this stuff, I'll end up like this Fat Bastard!















I got these cheap at a Flea Market some time ago. Much more malleable than your usual Kubrick, they are fairly faithful representations. Ugly, but faithful!

I'd Be Lion...

If I told you I had a good time, for I went to see the Lions vs. the Eagles tonight and unfortunately our boys were Lion down on the job and the Lions were King.






Because I went solo, there was no one I could inflict my bad jokes upon, so I had to find other ways to amuse myself. Since I'm working tomorrow, I only had one beer and Homer was right that baseball without beer is pretty dull.





I haven't been to a game in 2 years, so I've never seen a KitKat girl in action. I bought a bar at twice the price in order to snap this photo of a rather shy gal.






A couple of Cola-girls led the crowd in a 7th Inning stretch, but I was disappointed for there was no great Balloon blowoff due to the Influenza scare. I suppose sputtering balloons expel flu-soaked spittle over the masses so this tradition has been put on hold for now.





They've added an Eagle on stilts and giant pickle to their mascot roster. I was too far away to capture the cheerleaders on film, so this'll have to do.






Leaving the stadium in shame, one of the bearded Dwarf-wannabees posed for me.








Not a bad game for 1200￥ but when you add the beer, KitKat and Gyutan for dinner, it adds up. In case it started raining, I bought an official Rakuten Towel as well. A tad expensive, but one can always use a towel (just ask Arthur Dent...obscure HHGTTG reference.)




On my way home I grabbed a much less expensive snack and espied a can of Aquarius on sale boasting Dice-K of the Angels!
