Saturday Dance Party!

A friend came over and helped me solve my computer Blogger dilemma. For some reason, my server Chrome was blocking stuff, so he gave me a new server, Opera. Bob's your uncle! So tonight's blog is courtesy of a Night at the Opera.

Unfortunately, he then kidnapped me and took me to Yamagata so I didn't have a chance to blog yesterday. BUT, I did buy a ton of loot of which I shall showcase here later tonight.

Now back to our regularly schedule Countdown entry...

This pic shows several Boogeymen boogieing away. I'll try and enlighten you as to who is whom.

In the lower left corner on guitar, べーたら (Betara?), is a fellow from India. Although it doesn't look like one, it's probably a sitar. He may be of Shiva's avatars, Batara Guru or Bathala. I dunno.

Above him is a Cyclops called ダスザ (Dasuza?) from Brazil. There is NO other pictures or data on him in the book, so I scammed this from the net...

Next to Dasuza is a very creepy skeletal dude called ハイタデンカ (Haitadenka) from Belgium. Not sure what he's up to in the next picture, but he could be a succubus.

He (it) appears to be dancing with the lovely 樹霊 (Jurei) from Sweden. I think she's the soul of an old tree.

Also in the above picture is the seductress Lorelei (ローレライ), from Germany, a Witch-Rusaruka (まじょルサルカ) from the former USSR, ぐェティア Güestia from Spain and a French Dragon.

Back to the dance party is our old pal Frankenstein (the Creation, not the Creator), who is Swiss, based on Victor's background. Dancing beside him is the aforementioned wee lass, Witch-Rusaruka.

The tusked character playing flute is an Onna-Yasha 女夜叉 from China.

I scammed from the Twitterers a great pic of her menacing the Gegege crowd.

Floating above them all in the upper right-hand corner is a ルーガー (Ruu-gaa ) from  New Guinea. I can't find anything on it though it appears to be some kind of fiery wraith.

On the bongos is a dude called ツァジグララル (Tsajigurararu?) who apparently comes from America yet he seems more South American to me.

In the centre of the picture is a horned gal called 夜叉マラ (Yasha-Mara) from northern Europe. Wait a sec, in the colour photo above, I thought it was a she, yet here it is clearly a guy. He looks like the worst masseur/masseuse ever!

Holding his/her hand is 悪霊 (Akuryou) from Greenland who is an Inuit evil spirit.

カー (Kaa) is not the Snake from Jungle book, but some creature from Egypt. (It's tough to Google this guy without just coming up with a lot of pictures of cars.)

Phew, that was quite the handful of Yokai. I think I'll save these colour pictures for the weekend, there are way too many characters to do it justice otherwise.

Now True Confession time. While researching these creatures, I came across a blog-post of MINE from a decade ago. Apparently I DO already own this book and wrote about it a long time ago. This time around, I'll try and use different pics. (Technically, I AM blogging from a different book. The one I used before is sitting on a shelf buried behind some toys. This one was recently purchased.

Mmmm, candy covered bananas resembling Minions, Smurfs (?), Pikachu or Totoro. I ate a Pikachu.

Move along now...Nothing to see here.

Mooning you.

Until I can figure out how to upload from my pc, looks like I’ll have to do so from my phone!!

I scored this book on sale for 50¥ a few weeks back and I’ll borrow photos from it daily

Boy the spacing is very wonky.

This book is all about non-Japanese yokai and monsters, written and drawn by Shigeru Mizuki who created the manga series Gegege no Kitaro.

Since today is お月見の日 (Autumn Moon Viewing Day), I’ll include this entry about a werewolf.

Here’s another entry only it’s about moths (well they’re attracted to moonlight, aren’t they?)

That’s pretty gross.

I was very pleased to find this dude greeting me as I entered one of my schools today. If I have time closer to Halloween, I’ll teach them how to carve it, rather than just drawing in a face with markers.

Another addition shall be my Trick or Treat. Today’s treat are these incredibly sweet yet tasty choco-pops.

Finally, here are a couple of shots of last night’s moon taken with my phone. Lameness guaranteed or your money back!

Moon over Mandai!

Fortunately one of my roving reporters with far more patience and a superior camera snapped this for me.

Alas, my entries are going to be short and sweet until I can overcome my Blogger woes.

My thanks to the Countdown’s new crypt keepers, Michelle and Michael.

See ya tomorrow!

Happy Pocky Day!

I posted tried to post this on 11/11/11 at 11:11:11 according to my often-incorrect PC clock, times may vary internationally.
(PC froze at the last minute...Sigh!)

In order to get ready for today's event, I ran out to the local Conbini and bought a few boxes and I got a couple of Glico badges of Robin & friends. I forgot to photograph the badges, so you'll have to wait for a later update or I'll miss my 11:11 deadline. (Stupid blogger is taking forever to upload again so several pictures will have to be delayed...Sigh.)

Zombie Pocky:

Zombie Pocky extended ad:

The above are Halloweenish, the following-not so much. Here is a picture of Toppo who haven't jumped on the 11/11/11 band wagon.

Tex Avery Pocky:

Skinny Pocky:

Realistic Pocky:

Morning Musume Pocky:

Ubiquitous Pocky:

Pretz (For some reason, pronounced "Pritz" in Japan) did get in the act, I'm not sure what these characters are on the box, but they're kind of cool.

Best laid plans and all that, I missed my deadline thanks to a frozen computer and got it in at 11:12. I still had a few things to add, so it's even later. I'll update with the badges later.

Raiders Has Been Raided.

If you're wondering where the updates are, I've been inundated with a nasty virus. Last time I used a trojan it was to prevent a virus, not contract one!

Hopefully, things will be back to normal shortly but for now, M2YW is on hiatus.

I Hate Stupid Change!

I tried to add the stupid Amazon link to my stupid blog and so far the stupid format has all changed and I can't figure out the stupid changes and nor can I now remove the stupid link. At the moment I can't find the stupid little tab-thingie to upload pics and I must have changed something cuz now the stupid Amazon link doesn't even appear anymore. For example, I wrote a long diatribe and then when I tried to upload a picture, I got a weird bad format message and then the entry disappeared! I hate change and I hate stupidity (especially my own.)

One change that I approve of is the addition of a new Follower. It's Livin The Dream and I haven't yet perused it, but it appears to be somewhat rude. So, you my other faithful followers, may enjoy it as well. (Unlike those with hundreds of Followers, I have just over a dozen so I can give them a shout-out!) So welcome Stylez, I hope I can write something of substance shortly!

REVISION: it appears that now everything is lost! (And yes, I did download the template before I edited but to no avail!) Stupid Blogger!

Uncle Grandpa.

I really gotta fix my scanner but I'm too much of a ninny to figure it out. Furthermore, I'm too broke to get it fixed and my apartment is too messy to call in a friend to fix it. As for being broke, I just found out that a potential p/t job next month has fallen through AND I just got nailed with my property tax bill 1700$ spread out between now and next February.

So here is a silly YouTube to take your mind off my troubles. (It starts off pretty noisy, so beware.)

Oh yeah, next month I'm going to be an uncle for my little brother has knocked up his girlfriend and much to our surprise is happy about it!

Scanners Returns!

No, not another in the series of "His head blowed up real good" movies, rather my simple scanning device that magically returned when I turned on my pc today. (I really got just hit a reset button before I start panicking!) Anywho, here's a snippet of a Calendar that I received when I bought an advance ticket to アリス・イン・ワンダーランドオ. I don't get to see it for another few weeks, but it looks visually interesting even with the Tim Burton reimagining (we all know what that did for Apes!)

Stupid Scanner!

I blew a fuse again (microwave, tv, space heater + computer = breaker break) and upon returning to electric bliss, everything seemed to be normal. But now that I want to scan something, my scanner icon has disappeared! I wish I weren't so dumb and then I could figure out how to get it back!

(Aside: I just watched Geena Davis give birth to a giant maggot...I love The Fly!)

Therefore, here are some recently taken random pictures. No explanation necessary...
