Green Lantern's Light!

Sheesh, another busy day and the only viewing I managed was watching the finale of Lanterns. A very impressive finale to a very impressive series. Was the dynamic between John and Hal terrific? Yes. Were the gals in the show also terrific? Also yes. Was it slow at times? Yes. Was there not enough action (in a superheroic vein)? Yes. Did I really like Guy's appearance? Definitely, yes.

Do I want to see more of Sinestro since he didn't really have much to do? Yes. Am I pleased that I found a Funko of him several months ago? Absolutely, yes.

Am I hoping that this series does so well that there'll be a Season 2? That would be a Yes.

Am I pleased that they came out with a series of JLA mini figures that come in their own tiny clear capsule cases? Yes.

Am I glad that one of them is Hal Jordan Green Lantern. Yes.

Is it a happy coincidence that my book of Monsters happens to have a Jack o' Lantern? Yes, it is.

Is this one funky Google translation? Yup.

Is it cool that I instructed my students today to write about their favourite Yokai/Monsters and as a demonstration, I used an old Sendai-based Youkai from a blog entry of  a few years back? It certainly is.

Chouchin Kouzou: The Red Lantern Boy (Click the link for details.)

Are you getting sick of me introducing all these entries with a question and an affirmative answer?

Yes? Me too.

Speaking of Yokai, one of the Facebook pages I follow is Yokai Attack and one of the "Top Contributors"  (Johannes Battey) has put forward a challenge to people to draw their own Yokai. Day 3 happens to be this anthropomorphized Lantern with a protruding tongue called: Chouchin Obake. I have scammed several of the artists' portrayals and have credited them accordingly. Only one has a noticeable website, the others may have Websites or Instagrams or whatever. You'll have to subscribe to Yokai Attack and dig deeper into their pages.

Forgive me if I have spelled any names incorrectly or not used proper accents or umlauts. (Not sure how!)

Great work to all of the above and this is probably the last time I shall do such a thing. (Too much work.)

As for a snack, I don't have anything that I've purchased but snapped a few photos from the supermarket. Such as:

The link from the official Countdown to Halloween site for i-mockery doesn't seem to be working, so try this for links to some retro Games.

I have a day off tomorrow so hopefully I'll be able to watch a movie or something!

RokuRoku and Roll.

A really really short post today! Since I got home from work, I have had the runniest of noses. I can't take photos of anything without dripping snot on it. So...

I'm going to stick my neck out and just show a clip from RokuRoku today.

I tried to find the entire movie to no avail.

By pure coincidence, today's Yokai is RokuRoku!

Here's today's Venom, a rerun of a pic of some Venomized Funkos from a previous post of mine. (That's how lazy I am today.)

Rocket is my favourite.

That's it! I cannot be arsed to try and think at the moment. Perhaps after a good night's sleep. (Like that's gonna happen!)

Happy SpideyDay!

Apparently August 1st is Spider-Man Day (first published this month in 1962). And...since I was organizing a plethora of figures, trying to figure out these figures, I photographed several sets. So here we go...

The good guys (and gals). (Mini-Funko Pops)

And the bad guys.

Some Venomized heroes and villains.

A really old Gatcha set.

Woohoo, a full set of Amazing Spider-Man.

Half a face.

A very very old Pepsi bottlecaps collection that has begun to yellow with age.

Miscellaneous Spideys. Maybe a Happy Meal? Plus some Kubrick/Bearbrick.

More miscellany.

From a coffee cap.

Another Gatcha set that one can stick to mirrors.

If I could save Spidey in a bottle...

UFO Catcher characters.

The latest Gatcha goodies were a Venom set of friends. (Missing 1)

And a Carnage set of friends. (Missing 2)

A far older Gatcha set.

Scored the entire set of these finger puppets without any doubles!

Scored this coaster when I bought some popcorn at S-M, AtS-V.

A few other UFO catcher figures from Spider-Verse.

I never did win ANY of the stuffed stuff, but I did score all the boxed figures.

A few weeks back, I went through my supply of stickers and Clear Files in order to dig up some applicable to commemorate the passing of John Romita Sr.

I had more than I thought!

I have plenty more Spider-Man paraphernalia floating around and one day, I'll add them to this post (Or start a new one.)
Happy Spider-Man Day!
