Attack of the Giant Lottery!

I knew this was coming, fortunately I've saved up a few shekels to afford it. Yes, a new Ichiban Kuji has arrived. I got extremely lucky in my first three tries. I scored the rare B prize, a Godzilla Minus One figure and two magnets.

It went slightly downhill from there, several more magnets, a handful of acrylic stands and some posters. It appears that the Godzilla Minus One poster is the first to be chosen, it had disappeared from each venue I tried. (Four other venues.) Here are the magnets I did and didn't win.

Biolante is well represented. 3 separate magnets, including a single branch (I call Shenanigans!) So not too bad, 7/10 with only one double Anguirus. (That's cool, he's my favourite non-Godzilla Kaiju.)

The magnets are chosen at random, as are the Acrylic guys. I got 4/18 with no doubles.

The poster seem to be recreations of the theatrical release posters. Nice big B-3 size, perfect for wallpapering a room. Here are the five I chose.

Now only 25 more to go! 

GOvember is almost over! Will I be able to complete the set? Stay tuned...

Mysterio-us!

Not exactly Halloweenish, nor is it magical to fit the theme of witches this month, but mainly because I want to keep a record (and to brag about my acquisitions), I shall present to you the Spider-Man Far From Home Kuji that is almost over. The Kuji is a draw for a Spidey-item, for the A, B C, and D prizes you definitely get your money's worth. The E, F, G and H prizes are more frequent and so your stuck with plenty of doubles. Let's start with H, a set of three Stickers:

I've managed to get 5/6 of the sets with only two doubles, so that's not a bad bang for your buck.

This is the one I need. I'm not going to rush out and find it yet if I come across it, I'll pick it up.

The G Prize is a set of 2 notebooks with 4 different sets available.

 

I managed to score all 4 sets with only a couple of doubles.

 

 

 

I have tons of doubles for the F prize, mini-skateboards that I suppose you twiddle with your fingers. At least I have the full set of four.

I usually land lots of posters, so far with these, I only have 2/10.

I like the D prize, an acrylic stand for one's phone or anything else you need stood up.

I know I have the third one somewhere. It's of Mysterio.

The C prize is a Tote bag, either black or blue.

The B prize is one of two t-shirts, I haven't opened Mysterio yet, my Spidey is in the wash.

Finally the A prize is an awesome figure of Spider-Man.

And if you're lucky enough to choose the final Kuji, you score the Last One, another terrific Spidey.

Let's hope we see several Spider-Men or Mysterios this Halloween. It'd be awesome if a Night Monkey shows up too!

Most of the movies directed by Ishirou Honda are not very spooky but one of them gave me a nightmare as a kid and pops into my subconscious from time to time.
That movie is マタンゴ (Matango).

This version of the trailer is similar to the movie that I watched. Neither dubbed nor subbed.



This dubbed version is more comprehensible but is pretty cheesy. (Mmm. Cheese and mushrooms...)



This version with subs is better for it isn't as cheesy. (Mmm. Cheese and mushrooms on a sub.)



Now I'm getting hungry.

This movie was released as part of the Godzilla All Movie DVD Collector's Box, a series that I wish I could afford to collect. I have a few of them though not so much for the movie as for the goodies that come with it.
