I went to the Japan Kokeshi Museum yesterday and while a delightful little place, unless you like Kokeshi, it can be a little dull. Here is a brief explanation of what Kokeshi are all about.
Here in no particular order are a ton of Kokeshi (starting with the coquettish one).
Other odds and ends in the joint.
Stuff for sale...
Even more odds and ends.
I tried to upload another video of me playing with toys but it wasn't successful.
More stuff for sale.
The master craftsman at work. You can make your own Kokeshi if you have 1100 yen and a ton of patience.
Guess who?
In the parking lot.
It's a gorgeous gorge!
On the way to Tome, a big cow.
We went to two different Book Markets, still looking for an Eko Eko Azarak manga. (Still no luck.)
I did score some Kaiju though.
Gamerae. (Is that the proper plural of Gamera?)
And Ymir! (20 Million Miles to Earth.)
Azuka and a Rody!
Not a bad haul for 25 bucks!
I don't think I've shown the above EEA before.
Not much to do with Halloween yesterday until after 9 p.m. when I met Alex for drinks. We're planning our low-key Halloween Party at Dragon's Diner. And it just happened to be his birthday at midnight, so I couldn't exactly leave early.
The birthday boy celebrating the 4th anniversary of our first time together when he was 12. (You do the math.)
And a few brew at Ernies included a quick meeting with Dr. Strange.
Finally, here is a link to today's Cryptkeeper, Classic Horror Club.
