Dorsal Plate Tectonics.

Ya know that Godzilla is like a monstrofied T-rex with Stegosaurus bony plates and bad breath, right? I just happen to have scored a dorsal plate for Godzilla.

I'm not sure if I want to display it or not. In a quake, it'll plummet and smash.

Maybe I could use it as a candy dish?

I'm watching Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1992) for the umpteenth time and I don't think I've ever spoken about how huge a tribute to American movies. It rips off homages flicks, such as Jurassic Park, Raiders, e.t., Terminator and even has a line from Dirty Harry in it. See if you can find the references the next time you watch it.

I've also watched Godzilla vs. Megalon with the first appearance of Jet Jaguar. (Cool song!)

Click here and sing along!

Getting back to dorsal plates, one creature that sports an awesome dorsal fin is Bruce the Shark from JAWS! We now have the third series of Jaws Gatcha...

First up. A MAN-EATING SHARK APPEARS (Jaws, 1975).

Smile!

Also from '75, FEAR OF THE SEA

Yummy!

APPROACHING FANGS (Jaws 3, 1983)

Finally, NO ESCAPE

Just floating along, when ...

All of a sudden!

I managed to find a Bath Ball. I rarely bathe yet it's starting to get colder so maybe I'll soak in the tub some time this weekend.

I hope I get the secret one. These are expensive.

A Potter Coffee.

I had to go downtown today and instead of going to my clinic to book my latest vaccination (7th!), I popped into the cinema to watch The Creator. I nodded off a few times at the beginning then when the kid showed up, it got a little more interesting, but not much. Nice effects, heavy handed plot, good acting, cute kid but just not my cup of coffee.

Speaking of coffee, I noticed that Tully's had Pumpkin Pie, so I decided to partake.

Hey, there's an Owl on my pie!

The whole place had a Harry Potter theme to it. I saw the cup of Joe (actually Milk Tea) for 7 bucks, so I decided to splurge. Because you get an OWL! Little did I know that when she rung up the price, the Owl was an extra 7 bucks! I missed that when ordering!

Most of the above (EXPENSIVE) items were sold out. Boy, those Potterheads are big fans. Ah well, at least I got three stickers with my purchase.

I should have gone inside e-Beans and grabbed a Halloween treat instead.

The only snag with this Ice Cream joint is: YOU DON'T GET TO KEEP THE CUP!

Sendai station had some treats booths set up as well. Again, way pricey.

The book store has a few nice displays:

I noticed this Shark Gatcha and am pleased to have scored the best one.

Nearing the end of my Yokai book. This mischievous CyclopsYamawaro hangs out at riversides and is actually a friendly sort who'll help you with your luggage and may bathe at your place when you're not around.

Today's Facebook Memories showed me a Venomized Father Mike and since I can't find that Venom mask, I scammed this pic from a few years ago.

I'm showing my gals & a guy a movie tomorrow (Sleepy Hollow? Maybe?) and then I have a quickie Halloween party tomorrow night. So I'm off to bed now. (In the interim, check out Highbury Cemetery, there's some creepy goings-on there.)

Ayame fan of Irises.

Since today is the Summer Solstice and thus the longest day of the year, I decided to spend some of it outdoors for a change. So I popped over to Tagajo and checked out the week-long Iris Festival (Ayame Matsuri). Whoa! 3 million specimens from 800 different species of Iris!

A quick respite from viewing Irises, I scurried up the steps to the site of Tagajo Castle. Not much to see, for it's been in ruins for ages, though there is a big rock as a marker.

And a temple that is undergoing restoration.

All the irises...

Back to the Ayame.

Somewhere around here, it got very windy, so I took a Short video, which I cannot embed. Here's a link, I think.

Some of the fallen soldiers.

And the men who retrieved them.

It's me squinting in a selfie.

I'm nearing the end of it now...

Just a few hyacinth for good measure.

And the finale.

Biggest disappointment was the lack of dragonflies!

At one of the dozen food booths, I grabbed some tandoori chicken and a mango ice cream.

Hey you know what movie came out yesterday 48 years ago? JAWS! A few years after that, I was watching it in a gal's basement and was coming into first base. Then the head fell down from beneath the boat wreck and it was a real mood killer.

A brand new Gatcha set captured a few scenes from JAWS 1,2&3.

JAWS (1) has Hooper in the SHARK CAGE being crushed by Bruce.

Also from 1, is the BATTLE WITH SHARK scene with Bruce dragging three barrels.

From JAWS 2, we see a different Great White gnawing on a SUBMARINE CABLE.

Finally from JAWS 3-D, we have RAID whereupon our captive shark decides he doesn't like to be captured.

This set is even better than the previous set which you can view here from a post last Halloween.

So it's nearing midnight and our days with be getting shorter from here on in. Sigh.
