You're Getting Sleeeepy!

After a rare evening lesson, I popped into the Mandai in Tagajo and what should I find? A new Godzilla Minus 0-0 figure.  

 But I gave up after a few tries. Hopefully I can nab one before the new movie starts next week. 

And then I noticed a new Gatcha with Snoozing Kaiju. I managed to score the entire set in 7 tries and triple I got were all Godzilla.

 

Yaaawn! A drowsy Godzilla, a snoozing MechaGodzilla, a Gaigan nodding off, and a Hedora in slumber.
 

 What is that thing on its tail? Is that a Mothra Larva?

Put your head on my shoulder...

These are pretty cool.

Even cooler are these figures procured for me by one of my agents who was in America for a week. He scored as many as he could (and kept a few for himself which his son sold on Mericari for a 700% markup on auction.) I feel bad that he had to consume so many Happy Meals, but c'est la vie. MINE won't be sold. Here's what I got.

 #2: Keroppi/Pikki/Koroppi X King Ghidorah.

 #3: My Melody X Mothra.

 #4: Pompompurin X Gigan.

 

#5: Cinnamoroll X Destoroyah.

As you can see, I'm missing three: Badtz-Maru X Rodan, Chococat X Space Godzilla, and Kuromi X MechaGodzilla. If anyone wants to battle E-Bay and buy them for me, I won't be offended.

Meowzilla!

On this day 3 years ago, I did a post on cats, so I'll do so again. While everyone in America was overjoyed to get Godzilla mashed up with Sanrio characters (a friend picked up a couple for me, I just don't know which ones yet), we here in Japan got some Cats mashed with Godzilla!

 Oops, my mistake. These cats are mashed with Ultraman.

THESE are the cats mashed with Godzilla: 

ゴジにゃ (Goji-nya: nya is the Japanese equivalent of meow) is a set that consists of the following:

Mecha-Gojinya.
 

Fire Gojinya.

Millennium Gojinya.

Mosunya.

Speaking of cats, I saw these at the UFO Catcher but didn't try to win one. (Short of cash AND short of space to store them.)

This is a forthcoming movie that I haven't seen any preview for yet, but it promises to be a Purrfectly fine Pixar film.

These Sanrio figures are very creepy. (I hate it when cats stand on their hind legs.)

Today's Creatures from my book of Monsters includes a couple of feline felons.

 

I like how Google translates マンティコア as Manticola. Head of a man, body of a lion and the tail of a scorpion is the traditional version. Originally Persian, also adopted by Egyptians and Greeks.

I suspect the feature: "They absolutely love humans" is in the culinary sense, not the romantic one.

Another feline-based creature is Toukotsu a ferocious Chinese beast.

The Treat part of today's Trick or Treat are these yummy brownies.

 

Today's movie will be Practical Magic which I have NEVER seen but want to view before the sequel comes here. It involves witches so I can only imagine it includes a cat as a familiar.

My old homey from Soma (Somey?) paid another visit to Sendai from HK, to see me and to go shopping with her beau. We popped over to a PopUp and hopefully you can see the results in this reel:

Afterwards, we poked into the Pokemon store. She bought a couple of items and we scammed a pose with these Pikachu.

Pikachu wears several classic outfits from all over Japan. 

Forgive me if I don't know the names of these Pokemen (I'll get some flack for that one).

Outside the Parco...

 

We stopped for a bite and exchanged some gifts. I gave her some Gatcha goodies (Broomstick animals and Guardian cats), a Tit, Chucky socks and a Kuromi pouch to put them in.

 

She gave me these awesome TMNT/Sanrio Happy Set toys.

And some Choco-Pistachio and Nuts.

In other news, I watched Ginger Snaps for the first time. Lots of fun, and I vaguely recognized some of the locations.

I need an Oni. How about this crew?

 

These four are underlings of Shuten-Doji who I wrote about here. Their names are Kuma-doji, Hoshi-kuma-doji, Toguma-doji and Kin-doji. They kidnapped women and then took care of them. Although it doesn't say so in the script, they probably all had their heads chopped off.

And for once, I remembered to include some Comic covers from my collection.
