Macaroons anyone?

About 3/4 way finished decorating the venue for tomorrow night's party, but I forgot to take any photos. Snapped these at the last second.

Lame...

But DJ Mokgohan has his decks all set up and raring to go. Sounds good 'n spooky!

Anyway, tomorrow should be a blast, whether we get a dozen or a hundred, it should be a howling good time. (And as we were leaving, two young girls called out my name. They were students of mine in Elementary School in Watari. Surely they can't be of drinking age now, can they? If I taught them in Grade 6, they'd be age 11-12 then. I left the school 3 years ago. I was at the school for 7 years. Depending on when they graduated, the math adds up. I hope!)

Really impressed by these 4/6 ViruSweets that I scored at Gatcha. I really want the blue one though! This set all seems to be flavours of InfecTea. Click around on this link to their website. There's a Comic Strip, a list of characters, and more.

There's even a YouTube about an earlier set of different varieties of pudding.

Oh, found another video!

These are the ones I got.

 Scone & Lemon Tea

Macaron Framboise (Strawberry Macaroon?) & Macaron Pisutachio (Pistachio Macaroon?)

Delicious!

I saw a movie today in which the lead may have consumed some of the above. But he's invulnerable, so that's okay.

Warning to those who go see the movie in Japan, there is some foreign dialects that are only subtitled in Japanese, not English. I had no problem with the French, but had great difficulty with the Danish. (Hey! Danish! That goes along with the Tea and Macaroons.)

All the leads were delightful, I can't choose a favourite. A tad slow at times, but well worth the 2 1/2 hour sit. NO spoilers, but if you've read the book, then you've seen the movie. It is only under a limited release but will be released on Netflix next week. I urge you to see it in the Theatre. It'll be worth it. Shout out to Bernie in the end credits and a Thanks to Michele Wrightson. Other thank yous as well, but they went by very quickly and he used first names only.

I also noticed that Guy Davis was used as a Conceptual Artist. Check out his portfolio.

I need a big hulking Oni today. I guess this will do. Get your daily exorcise!

I grabbed a quick pumpkin flavoured pudding cake tonight. Hopefully it's not laden with a virus.

There's no candy to be found at Chocolate Halloween Candy but there are other tasty Tumblr tidbits there.

I have TWO parties tomorrow night, so hopefully I can wish everyone a Happy Halloween before I leave for them. I doubt whether I'll be in any condition to write about them immediately afterwards.

Final Halloween Lesson This Year.

First evening lesson with the Shichigahama gang was a half dozen veteran seniors and a younger women with her two Elementary School aged daughters. I think the older one speaks better English than her mom. This will prove to be challenging because not every lesson will be Halloweeny. I brought my old Jack o' Lanterns which were beginning to deteriorate and a new one I carved just ten minutes before I had to leave for the lesson. I also brought a larger pumpkin I bought two weeks ago and forgot about.

The rush job. These mini ones are very tiny and rock hard, so I nuked it for two minutes beforehand. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to let it cool and it was scalding while I carved it.

Oops, the only photo I have of this one and its face is turned. I nuked it for about 5 minutes, it was still pretty hard though it had cooled down by the time I got to the classroom. I put the girls on guts removal.

Here is the foursome.

While the one male student and I were carving, the ladies and kids had a blast getting ready for the costume party.

Then Trick or Treating and they departed. Hopefully the dude who took the pics will give me copies next week.

I also took a look at my Second Year gals' drawings. They had even less time to draw than the other group but they doubled down on the cuteness.

This gal went above and beyond.

Here's an odd Oni for ya. (Aren't they all?) 首引鬼 (Kubi hiki oni) is a demon daughter who neck wrestles with a warrior. (Be sure to click on the pick to see how Google Translate interprets the narrative.)

I popped into Tagajo Mandai and didn't buy anything! That's a first! I did see a cool Chucky bath-ball and a kawaii/kowai Gatcha.

Just a reminder about our party on Friday to anyone in the neighbourhood.

I may go to this party, if I can find it.

I'll leave you with this Mad Scientist who has his own musical Halloween Mix available.

Tomorrow afternoon, I'm off to see Frankenstein!

Treat or Trick!

On Sunday while watching a Peter Cushingathon, I puttered around with my suitcase full of costumes. So I laundered them to get them ready for Monday's class.

I wore the above once for Halloween. Clark Kent or Superman? Can you tell the difference?

It's amazing how the removal of glasses changes a man.

In addition to this were a bunch of different tiaras and animal ears but I neglected to photograph them. Oops. I did snap my collection of masks.

Also a whole bunch of candies thanks to a bucket I bought at CostCo.

Before I started the Cushingathon, I carved a new creation. Jack o' Lantananas!

As you can see it's a very morose looking creature. I think it's pining for something! You should be able to watch a short video here

So I brought this and my Kapp o' Lantern and a suitcase full of costumes and candies to school on Monday. The gals and a guy in 1st Year had a blast and went Trick of Treating to the neighbouring classroom.

I went in drag dragon and did the same with my 2nd Year gals.

Strangely, the camera had a problem and blurred all their faces! What's up with that?

They all drew pictures for me, here is the lot for the First Year students.

She corrected the spelling later.

Who knew that Teletubbies would make a comeback?

All of the above are pretty darned cute. The next two, less so.

I must admit that they only had about ten minutes to scrawl their doodles, though this gal also managed to nearly complete the Word Search.

When asked what she wanted to be, she replied a Sister. I didn't know she meant THIS Sister!

For most of them, this was their first experience Trick or Treating. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

I'll show off the Second Year girls' pictures later, I haven't looked at them yet...

Here's an Oni for ya.

Kind of goofy looking for such a nasty creature.

There, that's better.

I discovered a new Gatcha-Capsule store, though there wasn't much worth scooping up. I like the looks of these guys.

Goblins and Orks!

I have to get ready for my first evening lesson with my Shichigahama crowd. There may be some new members so I should be on my best behaviour, though history dictates the opposite. Hopefully, we'll carve a pumpkin together and have a costume party!

I'll leave you with fellow blogger, Count Gregula, check him out.
Ciao for now...
