It's a Miracle!

The day started off innocently enough. I went outside to check the weather, when I stepped back and and closed the door, my door handle came off.

A quick trip to the landlord ensued and ten minutes later, some young handydude knocked. It took him thirty seconds to fix the problem. Phew, no need for locksmiths!

I needed to pick something up from the main Post Office so I trekked there (10,095 steps!) and did so. I like how they've dolled up the drop box.

So get your letters to Santa ready!

Speaking of which, here's a clip from the most famous appearance of a Post Office in a movie, Miracle on 34th Street...

The trip home was mostly uneventful though I discovered that the huge Tsutaya near me has gone the way of the Blockbuster.

I blame streaming. Which I'm about to do and find another show to watch...(Although, I'll use YouTube.)

Happy Mothra's Day!

Since today is both the anniversary of Mothra's release and Mother's Day, I give you some goodies about Mothra. I just finished watching a dubbed version of Mothra (not bad dubbing either and part of a marathon about Kaiju moms) and can now begin my entry...

The above is a cool poster that I received with the video below.

More posters.

Check out the Peanuts!

Some behind-the-scenes work:

Love this little guy!

Just for fun, I brought out my pet Mothra for a little action.

I'd be remiss if I didn't include a photo of my actual Mothra Mother:

Happy Mother's Day and Mothra's Day to one and all!

NAZI-kashi

Okay, I just watched a movie about a musical called "The Producers." Now, I didn't see the DVD of the movie about a musical based on the musical about a movie based on a musical, I saw the original movie about a musical that inspired the musical about a musical based on a movie about a musical. Confused? Well, you should be. It's impossible to see that DVD of the movie about a musical based on the musical about a movie based on a musical here in Japan, because it hasn't been released yet. Actually, last week, the movie about a musical based on a movie about a movie about a musical was just released here in Japan. So next week, I hope to go see the movie about a musical based on a musical based on a movie about a musical so that I can compare it to the movie about a musical that I just saw.
If anyone wants to explain the above posting to me, please do so.

(By the way, the pun at the top refers to the Japanese word 懐かしい (natsukashi) which means "Nostalgia" and of course the movie has "Springtime For Hitler", a wonderful tune about Nazis.)
