I broke down and ate at McDonald's for two days in a row! But today was justified as they have just introduced two new sandwiches, The Ikasumi-burger and the Camembert Chicken Fillet. I tried them both.
As the name Ikasumi refers to Squid Ink, you would expect some squid ink
in your meal and I suppose they wanted to equate blackness with the witch they have pictured. The bun is also black, presumably some ink was involved in the
baking process and the sauce is black. Never having consumed squid ink
before I had no idea what it'd taste like and I must say I was NOT
disappointed. Tangy and flavourful, add in some crispy onion/bacon bits
and you get a pretty good burger. Messy and disgusting looking, but
tasty.
As expected, the Chicken fillet came with a white bun to add to its ghostly appearance. The first bite came with a pungent stab of Camembert, not unpleasant but a bit of a shock. After that, the rest of the sandwich was edible but nothing spectacular. If I had to choose another meal, I would eat the Squiddly one.
Speaking of squiddly, here is the intro to Squiddly Diddly, a creepy 6-legged gastropod that performs at a circus.
Today's Titanic contribution is two dioramas I picked up yesterday. Very creepy indeed.
And I'll finish off with one of the creepier NBC items I possess. This is a coin bank. Not many people would pick that up looking for spare change.
Oh yeah, I also ate a Pumpkin McFlurry with Oreos. This was the first McFlurry I've ever consumed and you could definitely taste the (artificial) pumpkin and I found the crunchiness of the Oreos more distracting than tasty. Meh.

A Mandai Hugginkiss.
I often frequent the Mecca of Mecha, Mandai, in Tagajo or Izumi but I haven't been to the one in Natori for over a year. I'm glad I didn't take too much cash with me otherwise I might still be there.
First I delved into its throngs of little toys 'n bits hanging on the wall and picked up a handful of items, notably this Killer Panda for half a buck.
I found a few Godzilla goodies I don't have and a few more Titan tidbits, such as this towel.
I found a manga I'll showcase later as well as a few Movie Pamphlets (there was only one I really wanted but they were 3/100 yen so I got a couple more.) I wandered through the dvds hoping to land a bargain and came up with this. I'm not sure if this is the definitive version of the "Slit-mouthed woman" or Kuchisake-onna but it should be good for a nightmare or two.
It looks like I got this: 都市伝説(urban legend)version. It's probably a lame documentary.
As I was walking out, I espied this UFO Catcher machine that has you scoop up a ping pong ball and drop it into the coloured whole and you win a prize. The prize happened to be an Attack on Titan mystery bag and I'm a sucker for those. So i wasted several coins in an attempt to win to no avail until I cheated and instead of scooping from the ping pong ball basket, I went straight for the tray and tried to knock a ball into it directly. That worked on my second try.
The bag itself is almost worth the price I spent and this is what the bag contains. A nice little figure, a long wallet (how does anyone carry these without getting their pockets picked?), a fan and two little mystery boxes.
Now I'm certain that they assemble these bags on the premises so you'd think they'd fill them with loot that would encourage one to try and catch another bag. NOPE. It contained two identical little boxes. WTF!
(I know it is the only figure they have left over and it was stuffed in all of the bags but it is still frustrating as heck.)
I went to the nearby Toys R Us in an attempt to find some Guardians Goods (no such luck) and found a cool toy car and almost bought these Chameleon eyes.
I found a few more Godzilla goodies at a nearby Hobby-Off (a spawn of Book-Off) which I'll show off later and then ended up at the Aeon Mall because I was hungry and wanted to see what was at the Cinema. Lo and behold, some Guardians Goodies that aren't in any of the other Cinema shops.
Funko Bobbleheads at only 410 yen each. Whoa, if they're nice I'll get several. I took two to the counter and he rang them up and it came to 1900 yen. My math isn't what it used to be so I questioned the validity and sure enough they were mislabeled and cost 950 each. Ah well, I bought my booty anyway. At odds of 1 in 12 of getting a cool Bobblehead, it's worth the chance.
I opened them up and, sure enough, two copies of Drax. I think I know what Alex is getting for his birthday in a few weeks.
Ah well, a few more minutes of UFO Catcher landed me this NBC item, Jack trimming the tree.
I almost never eat at McDonald's unless it's for a cool Happi Setto but I was famished and had a burger. Wait, what's this? Starting tomorrow a new Halloween special!
The lower one is a Chicken fillet with Camembert cheese and the top one is taking its cue from Burger King and is offering a bun dyed with Squid Ink! Ooh, I can't wait...
If you skip to the 4:45 point, you'll hear Bart's prank call that is the inspiration for this post's title.

Nice Knockers.
Still suffering from the blahs of a cold so another quickie post.
This is a door-knocker that I have never had the gall to install upon my apartment door. Though it might keep the Jehovah gang away.
And here we have 1/3 of a Colossus. The other four sixths can be found for about a buck a piece. Perhaps someday I'll assemble him.
Woohoo, it's the Oogie Boogie tune in Japanese!

A Nightcap.
I have a cold coming on so I have spent most of the day in bed. Now it's time to go to bed for the night and we have a typhoon coming. Therefore I want to stay cozy and warm. Which nightcap do you recommend? Jack Skellington or Santa-Jack?
I can't decide, so screw it. I'll go with Ghost-Teddy. Nighty night all.

Travel Time.
When one travels to all the corners of the Earth to see some of the top ten Haunted Places*, what does the chic traveller carry?
*FYI, here is one dude's impression of the top ten Haunted Places.
When I last flew home, I used Gachapin as my carry-on bag. (He served me well but the time before, my Gachapin bag split open. Don't over stuff him!)
Furthermore, if you want to haul stuff around, I'd advise using the Gachapin/Muku tote bag.
Another tote bag you might consider would be this lavish Mikasa Ackerman Training Corps one. Particularly handy for storing weapons should you undergo an Attack on Titan.
Another stylish carry-on one can use to schlep around your delicates and toiletries would be either of these fine Nightmare Before Christmas bags.
(Btw, if you'd like to buy any of these items at your local haberdashery, you'd be out of luck for all of the above items were won at UFO Catcher.)
If you're a wizened traveller like Woodstock, you are sure to dress for the occasion using the ol' "When in Rome" method. For instance when going to England or France, you have to either wear the garb of a Royal Guard or a Chef.
In Japan, you'd be remiss if you didn't wear a kimono, similarly a turban is necessary in India.
I did not realize that it is recommended that you ware a barrister's wig when on a walkabout in Australia. Crocodile Dundee lied to me.
And of course, if you want to be blend in in America, you simply must emulate the Statue of Liberty. Woodstock is so adorable in this getup, I simply had to showcase him at three different angles.
I bought some Fanta-stic drinks today and though I don't know who these chaps and lasses are on the Orange and Grape pops, they seem to be all ready for Halloween. Pop over to fanta.jp and surf around there to see what they're all about and enter the contest for presents!
When I purchased the pop, I was given two free cloaks. Now I know what to wear when it rains and they are very compact thus easy to pack.
Once you get on the plane, if you're anything like me, you have a hard time sleeping during the flight. That's why I carry a "Flight" eyemask for snoozing. One warning though, chances are pretty good that you'll be mistaken for Denzel Washington and may be asked to fly the plane in an emergency.
It's tough to get comfortable as well, so bring your Titan pillow, or better yet, a Sadako headrest.
Happy Flighto!
I forgot to do a shout-out to a fellow Countdown to Halloween bloggers yesterday, so now you get two.
Belle Dee of the Doo Wacka Doodles blog always has some of the cutest items either on display or for sale. Check it out!
A guy who knows his vowels can be found at AEIOU and Sometimes Why. Always something interesting happening there and it looks like we'll be treated to some Spooky Sounds this month.
