Big Manga On Campus.

I promised new Godzilla daily but I sort of reneged on that. I haven't rehooked up my satellite*so I haven't been watching the movies and I haven't seen much around to inspire me.
* (I'll do so after my vacation, why pay for a month if you're not going to be there.)

I don't frequent the magazine section of a conbini very often but I happened to glance down and saw this:

Two issues ago, Big Comics, featured an all-Godzilla issue in time for his 60th anniversary. A more recent issue has come out so I was lucky to snag a copy. (I managed to find another copy if someone wants it.) There's about 350, pages 21 stories and several articles about the Big G.

The back cover has a lovely picture of the new Godzilla and mentions all the countries in which it has reached #1. Of course that doesn't include our little archipelago for we don't get to see it until 7/25!

The second page features a really nice fold out poster and a list of all previous movies on its reverse.

The only other colour in the entire book is some info on the new movie. I'm sure it's full of spoilers, so don't read it if you're Japanese and want to remain unsullied.

The next couple hundred pages feature stories of varying length by various artists mostly focusing on the history of Gojira. I'll highlight some of the best panels for you. If you want to read the book, you'll have to find your own copy.

Wouldn't this make a great poster?

A cute tale where Gojira visits a movie theatre.

This story starts off innocuously enough and then features 14 pages of smut. A couple graphically makes out every time Godzilla terrorizes their neighbourhood. Definitely NOT for the kiddies. To retain a SFW, I won't show any of those panels.

 Hey, it's Minira/Minya!

Some odd tales where he visits some rockers, provides the inspiration for the Oxygen Destroyer and protects a bullied child.

Some allies and foes.

This story called "Savior Tooth" utilizes the new-look Godzilla, the only tale to do so.

He battles the Defense Forces, is miniaturized, and shows up as a Hamster-hybrid.

Next, a cool behind-the-scenes look at the suit-actors, another Oxygen Destroyer origin, and another kid who gets bullied story.

Finally a story entitled "Country of Godzilla" and the artwork is great.

Like I said, I have an extra copy if someone wants to take it off my hands and if there is demand for it, I'll seek out more copies.

Someone beat you to the punch but I'll shop around for another copy. The problem with these mags are their weekly status. I noticed a newer new one on the stands today.
