Well, La Di Daa, La Di Daa.

Yesterday, I alluded to the passing of Diane Keaton. Today, I found the movie pamphlet for Annie Hall.

 

Upon reading her IMBD, I learned that she was in the second episode of Night Gallery (the Room with a View segment). Adorable as a nurse to an old guy who takes advantage of her carefree spirit.

 

I should track down Sleeper, a sleeper hit with a futuristic bent. She has starred in innumerable other movies and shows, here is a clip of her singing Seems like Old Times.

Okay enough of that. Back to Halloween. I spent the day sniffling my sniffles and watched both Legend (Tom & Tim) and Lifeforce. 

I also watched a cute little Fraggle-esque Halloween special from over 40 years ago called, The Crown of Bog. And now you can too...

 

AND, I watched some new movie with Dakota Fanning about a mysterious box, Viscious!

 

Lots of jump scares that aren't very scary.

Not much energy to do anything ambitious so I treated myself to a special Thanksgiving dinner! Disney pasta.

 

I'm assuming the green is a spinach-noodle, from Left to Right we have, Pluto, Daisy, Scrooge McDuck, Donald, Mickey and Minnie. I couldn't find a green Goofy.

Chop and onion, add some actual spinach and throw in some tomato sauce and you get a bloody Scrooge McDuck!

 Some Raspberry & nuts KitKat for dessert.

I wanted to find an Oni that was red with big horns (similar to Tim Curry as the Devil in Legend) and this one carrying what may be a dead unicorn fits the bill.

 

Kidomaru. (Okay, it's not a unicorn, it's a cow.) 

No UFO Catching or Gatcha grabbing from my living room today, so I'll dig into the archives.

25 Days of Christmas...

I was flipping around my Twitch Channels and watched a bit of Final Wars and Destroy All Monsters and then switched over to a Cartoon channel. (CartoonBlast if you wish to check it out.) Well, they've entitled their feed, "The 25 Days of Christmas" and I've decided to steal their idea. First, I watched Mickey's Christmas Carol (1983) which features some cool cameos by Jiminy Cricket, Mr. Toad, Willie the Giant, the Weasels, and others. Here's a snippet, search for the whole thing yourself.

Next Toy Tinkers (1949) with the Chippendale Dancers Chip & Dale and Donald. 

Good Will To Men (1955) is an incredibly bleak but fascinating short by Hanna Barbera. 

Finally a Silly Symphony of The Night Before Christmas.

I'll try and add some cartoons daily. There are plenty to choose from!

Meanwhile, being the 1st of December, that means it's Calendar time. Here are my Star Wars and Jurassic Park entries for this month.

Picked this up yesterday for a buck. I may find a place for this Kubrick on my tree. (If I had one.)

Since Poker night was cancelled, here's the next best thing. (Scott Hilburn)

Lastly, I just can't get away from posting Godzilla stuff. I scored 4/6 tumblers at a buck a piece and a tea cup. Far cheaper than a full price Kuji at 900 yen.

I'm off to bed soon, I have an early morning of HoHoHoing with the kiddies tomorrow!

Death Takes A Holiday.

Just a quick Note before I go to bed. Here are a few (3 out of 8) Death Note phone straps with an odd assortment of doodads. or 5 other wacky items. I don't really need to get a complete set, for the ones I have are suitably odd enough for me to cherish.



I haven't gone UFO Catching for ages (lack of funds and really crappy machines-the days of winning every time are gone forever!), but I couldn't resist these Disney icons. Surprisingly, they aren't bootlegs but are actual Disney-approved items featuring a vampiric Donald & a zonked out Mickey! Shades of Rat Fink!

Kudos to Donald Fauntleroy Duck.

Hey, today is Donald Duck's birthday. He made his debut in "The Wise Little Hen" way back in 1934. He was only a minor character but made a big splash. One of my favourite Disney creations, DD has always quacked me up.

I have all kinds of Mickey Mouse crap, but very little merchandise of DD collected over the years. This little stuffed ball is about all I have.

Here's one of my favourite Duck cartoons, and one you won't see on TV anytime soon...



Speaking of Ducks, kudos also are due to the former Mighty Ducks as they win their first ever Stanley Cup. 'Twas a fine battle by the Senators, but Anaheim proved too strong in their defense and yet were only a single goal ahead after 4 games! I suppose they decided not to prolong the agony and conquered Ottawa 6-2 in the 5th and final match. It wasn't the most dramatic finale, but it did the trick and once again a Canadian team is unable to win Lord Stanley's Cup. As much as I'd like to have seen Ottawa take it, comfort is gained by the Ducks roster, which is made up of more Canucks than any other NHL team.

Good news is that I won the pool with 92 points acquired thanks to choice of several Dans and a Teemu. As a final comment, thanks to the shoddy unsportsmanlike conduct of Pronger's two elbowing game misconducts and Alfredsson's slapshot to the back of Scott Niedermayer, I don't foresee them dating Lady Byng anytime in the near future.

Wait until next year, you better BE LEAF!
