Return of the Ghost!

Huh, go figure. The movie magnet I showed yesterday is the 1959 version of Yotsuya Kaidan. This magnet is of the 1956 version directed by Masaki Mori.

Here's a Japanese only clip (that is a tad dull).

This version has a minute or two of a subbed version that is far spookier. Spooky YK (Note it is on Facebook Watch so I'm not sure if you'll have access to it.

This 2017 version of Yotsuya Kaidan, has a synopsis and a mini clip, looking very much like an updated Kabuki clone.

Kuniyoshi has a couple of paintings of "The Ghost of Oiwa".

Rats. I have about 200 drawings by kids but I forgot to bring any home to photograph.

I gave each kid some Nail Stickers. One gal proudly showed them off.

These KitKats showed up about 6 weeks ago and were the only Halloween items on display. They disappeared shortly thereafter.

Ten different pictures on the package, I got three of the lower left pumpkin.

Surprisingly, it tastes a bit like apple cinnamon!

Since I don't have any ghostly pics, here is The Call of Cthulhu by artist Austin James. (I didn't bother removing it from its bubble wrap.)

Lastly, here is a selfie of a mesh pumpkin mask. Not too spooky but it does cover up my beard.

Kuturufu.

I was wandering around downtown today and came across a group of Gatcha machines and this one caught my eye.

Hold on does that say what I think it says? cthulhu mythos? Cool! I bought one and I'm not disappointed. I nabbed クトゥルフ様 (kuturufu-sama).

Frick'n adorable! And those wings!

This version has him sleeping/dreaming.

Much cuter than this version:

Others include ショゴス (Shoggoth)

Gyaaa!

黄衣の王 (oue no ou?) is also known as the King in Yellow.

There's a slight resemblance.

ニャルラトテップ (Nyarlathotep), the Crawling Chaos.

I'm undecided as to which is cuter.

If you wander over to Toys Cabin, you may find other items of interest.

While at the Aeon, I bought some socks. Why are Halloween socks only for ladies?

I opted for some Snoopy socks instead.

At the UFO Catcher nearby, it had a pretty good Halloween display.

Surprisingly slim pickings for Halloweeny goods to catch. All that stood out were these Curious George monkeys.

I won a couple big-chinned animals from Shakurel Planet. And, no, I don't understand why these big-chinned creatures are so popular.

A few weeks back, I won this Lesser Panda. (I wonder if he has an inferiority complex due to his name.) Or is it a raccoon? I dunno.

To go along with the Cthulhu theme, here's today's Eko Eko Azarak. (I have NO idea what's transpiring here.)

Speaking of witches, here's a link to a fellow Cryptkeeper, The Windesphere Witch.

Ghostbusters Too.

I'm a little late to the Countdown to Halloween 2016 for two four days have passed since then (Stupid Head Cold) Regardless, I'll do my best to wrap up my entry, for all the other participants, check that link. (Addendum: another delay when my computer decided to die last night. Fortunately it has resurrected.)

I tried to add a little something about Ghostbusters with every entry I made this month and I almost made it. Today's entry is the Movie Pamphlet for Ghostbusters 2.

Not as good as the first (sequels rarely are), it was still a fun little romp into the supernatural.

I've never seen this in any other of my pamphlets, yet this one uses yellow newsprint for many of the images. I kind of like it.

The cast. More of the same with a bigger role for Rick Moranis.

My selfies are courtesy of a kids party we had on Sunday. I went through about a dozen costume changes throughout the day. We were in charge of the "Haunted Maze" and I howled thanks to my werewolf mask. Alas by the time the kids got to me, they were already petrified from the previous haunters who leapt out from behind a door. Oooh, scary! Of the last batch of 25 kids, I only saw 5, the rest refused to enter!

I started off with a kawaii Pluto just to set the kids at ease.

Pluto decided to get a bit randy with the wolf though.

I broke out my Cthulhu just to freak out a few more.

This one as well was used for its freaking out capability.

As for a Halloween snack, I wandered into McDs on Saturday just so I could try the Orange pumpkin chocolate French Fries.

I'd previously had the purple but it looks pretty gross. They probably started another colour just to pull in more customers.

I am no longer a fan of these fries yet this batch was better than before.

That's it. Halloween is over for another year though it never really ends on this blog of mine...
