I was in Morioka over the weekend and made a startling discovery. In addition to destroying cities, Godzilla has another job. He's an apartment-hunter for those very same individuals that he has made homeless! See for yourself.
First, he gets a new lead,
He locates the new spot
And gets the place ready for the client.
ALWAYS BE CLOSING!
Need further proof? Like a typical Japanese Salaryman, he's too busy to spend time with his family and misses out on important events in his son's life.
Ah well. He has a new movie coming out in July. Maybe that will get him out of his rut.
While I was in Morioka, I popped into the local Geek Outlet, Yorozuya, to sample their wares. (Check out Spidey in the top left corner.)
Most of the Star Wars stuff was out of my price range.
But I did manage to pick up a couple of mini-Kaiju figures.
These are all an inch or two tall and were only a buck a pop.
This guy with the club was more expensive but I have no idea what series it is from. Any ideas from the masses?
I'll keep you posted if I get any more information on how Godzilla is doing at his new job.

Ultra-Binder!

Before we get started with today's binder, here is a peek at the latest Ultra-Lemonade I'd acquired lately.
I have elaborated on Ultraman before such as this Ultraman book or when he was Ultra-job hunting. Today's Binder though is quite exquisite for 290¥, there are colourful section dividers, lots of great villains and a blast of some of the cool goods you can acquire. Check 'em out.

Fame!
Curtain Call presented FAME! Remember way back when at my Birthday Party when I mentioned the couple of ex-Curtain Callers, Karen Brown and Paul Harris? Well their son, Colin Harris, just happens to be the Technical Director of this show.My Guelph contact, Iris, saw the show and thoroughly enjoyed it. Iris also has a request to my audience. One of the contenders for the Best Job in the World just happens to be from Guelph and is a Curtain Caller himself! Mitchell Moffit plays Nick and if we vote for him, he can have the World's Greatest Job and maybe we can all go visit him on his island once he wins. He has his own little YouTube song (lame though it is) and you can cast your vote here! (He's in second now but he has a chance if we all vote for him daily. I think the entire population of Taiwan voted for the #1 contender...we can beat that!)
ps. You can always vote for dark-horse Mie from Japan but I have no personal connection to her...yet!

It's a Living.
Tomorrow I officially start as a full-time employee. It's only a 3-month contract, but it's steady work and I won't be working at 3 or 4 different p/t jobs to acquire a paycheque. It's not my dream job and I have to follow their method, though the students are more intellectually stimulating than the bimbettes at the high school.
It could be worse, I might have had to follow in the footsteps of Ultraman and taken a more tedious job. Case in point, I could have become:
1. 通勤中 = tsuukin-chuu , a Daily Commuter.
2. 工事中 = kouji-chuu , a Construction Worker.
3. 建設中 = kensetsu-chuu , a Builder/Carpenter.
4. 運行中 = unkou-chuu , a Train Operator.
5. 配線中 = haisen-chuu , an Electrician.
6. 溶接中 = yousetsu-chuu , a Welder.
7. 誘導中 = yuudou-chuu , a Construction Traffic Supervisor.
8. サビース中 = sabisu-chuu , a Service Worker/Waiter.
9. 診察中 = shinsatsu-chuu , a Medical Examiner.
10. 配達中 = haitatsu-chuu , a Delivery Person.
One thing is for certain, after these crappy pics, I'll never be a photographer!

Come to the Cabaret.
I put on a bit of a song and dance tonight and managed to land a part-time job. Honestly, they asked me to do a trial lesson to base whether or not I was worthy of teaching them and the lesson they asked me to give was on musical tastes. So I wowed them with my floorshow. I didn't actually dance or sing (much) but the director said that I was the first teacher at the school who is funny. I asked her if that was a good thing, and she assented.
So I'm now halfway to being employed, so with this and a few pick up gigs, I should be back to full-time status. In other good news, I found a couple more new KitKats. First up are some Strawberry Petits which are so tiny, they are hardly worth biting into. Furthermore, isn't half the enjoyment of a KitKat breaking it in two?
Another style of the 緑茶 (ryokucha or green tea) version that tastes better than the last one I had, perhaps it's the colour? Somehow I don't think it'll replace the Tea Ceremony anytime soon.
Check out the latest commercial.
