The Countdown Begins Tomorrow!!!

To get geared up for my addition to the infamous Countdown to Halloween I bought a 500¥ ticket @ 7-11 to win a Stitch item expecting to get one of those cheap ass toys that you usually get. Lo and behold, but I won one of the top prizes, a slipper. (You read that right, a single slipper that you stuff both of your feet in to keep them warm. I'll be regifting this sucker asap!)

Giving a nod to my follower Erick, here are some links to the organizers of Countdown to Halloween:

John Rozum at johnrozum.com
Shawn Robare at Branded in the 80s
Jon K at Jon's Random Acts of Geekery

Be sure to surf on over to any of those guys or just click the little banner below or at the top right of my blog.

This little video will also enlighten you as to our collective Monster Madness:

I'm a little too impatient to wait for tomorrow, so here is a poster I'm working on for our Halloween party in 31 short days. (Gratitude to the Gratis Greatness of i-mockery for the Spooky Letter Generator!)

A Stitch In Time.

I have no idea when I acquired this but am I glad I found it yesterday. Now the mushy white stuff they pass off as bread over here can be made into sandwiches with Stitch's face engraved in them!

I won this in one of those Conbini-"buy a 500 yen ticket and raffle for a random piece of Stitch crap a few years back. I don't have much else Stitch-related, thus I must have won it on a first or second try!

Recently they've had another one of them and I got this: Not very impressive, but it does light up (as soon as I can find the proper batteries that is.) I also won a pen the other day that flashes on and off. I've been using it during my Halloween lessons to place in a Jack o' Lantern while explaining the glowing ember that the Devil gave Jack to light his way. (It's a long story, look it up...)

Finally, here is a チョコがサクサク, some little chocolate confectionary square with cornflakes inside. Actually rather yummy!

I have to put my costume together in the morning. I know what I'm wearing but unsure as to how to assemble it! I can't wait to see all of the witches tomorrow night at Echophonyk at Shaft so it's off to bed to dream of ghosts & goblins!

In Stitches.

I'm listening to the Stanley Cup Penguins vs. Red Wings so I thought it'd be a good time to show off some Polar-Stitch characters. (Forgive me if I don't get the character's names right. I'm no expert...)

Here we have Stitch as an parka-wearing Inuit.

Stitch as a Polar Bear. I wonder if he'll show up on Lost.

My favourite is this zombie/hoodoo doll of Lilo's in a Seal outfit.

Stitch's girlfriend(?) as a light-blue Penguin.

Finally, we have Stitch as a dark-blue Penguin.

Since I'm talking about Penguins, here are the latest results of the Sendai Hockey Pool with the picked-players still remaining in play.

Mike's Picks:
D. Sydor (Pittsburgh) (I managed to choose an injured or benched player!)
TOTAL= 42

Andreas' Picks:
H. Zetterburg (Detroit)
TOTAL= 49*

Rob's Picks
M. Hossa (Pittsburgh)
TOTAL= 54*

Andy's Picks:
N. Lidstrom (Detroit)
S. Gonchar (Pittsburgh)
TOTAL= 64*

Alex's Picks:
S. Crosby (Pittsburgh)
B. Rafalski (Detroit)
TOTAL= 67

Dave's Picks:
H Zetterburg (Detroit)
E. Malkin (Pittsburgh)
TOTAL= 82!!!
This ignorant Brit must have some crystal balls to have been so precognitive!

Bring on the Cup!

In the past, I've shown a distaste for Penguins, but for the record, I'd like to see Sid the Kid get a Cup.
