The second Monday in October is both Canadian Thanksgiving and Japan's Sport Day (and something in the US as well) so the best werewolf movie to showcase both holidays is Canada's Michael J. Fox as basketball star, Teen Wolf. Full disclosure here, I'm not so certain that I've seen this movie all the way through so I may be a bit sketchy on the details.
Fandango!
ps. Anyone out there who'd like to donate to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research can check out that link.
I never saw the sequel with Jason Bateman nor have I seen any episodes of the TV show. Any good?
I have seen a young Michael Landon in "I was a Teenage Werewolf". Great looking poster.
That's about it for my Werewolf pamphlets, I really need to track down I was an American Werewolf in London.
No UFO Catcher stuff to show at the moment, so I'll treat you to a couple of cool postcards I acquired a while back.
Today's Candy Pack features a Werewolf, Mummy and Dracula and features bitter, curry or grape flavours.
As an added bonus, here is a tattoo for you!
Happy Thanksgiving to one and all. May you score big-time!

Incredibles Ironman.
I thought it was a familiar plot but until this video pointed it out, I hadn't noticed the similarity between Ironman 3 and The Incredibles. Check it out.
In other Ironic* Ironman news, I came home to find an envelope in my mailbox that wasn't a bill. I filled out a form back when I saw IM3 for the second time and sure enough, I won a set of Stickers/Tattoos. Pretty sweet!
*not really ironic
I may post something else later today, but I may just go to bed. Tiiiiired!

The More Things Change...
Last August I flipped over my bike and fractured my left elbow and wrist. Tonight while riding home from bridge, I decided to do the same thing. Not exactly planned but the result is the same. The strap from my bag dangled from the carriage and got caught in the spokes. I swear that if I rode a motorcycle, I'd end up decapitating myself. I still have the cast, I think I'll strap it back on.
Because it's a pain (literally) to type right now, my SW posting will be minimized. Here are a couple of snazzy tattoos to keep you sated.

Happy Get Lucky!
VACATION!
I went to a Happy Go Lucky (TEL.022-724-3565 FAX.022-724-3565 営業時間. 13:00~23:00
定休日.毎週日曜日・祝日仙台市青葉区中央二丁目1-15仙台マンション) party at which DJ Mixture works part-time (and I worked there twice when I was unemployed a year ago too.) None of the students recognized me so I was the topic of much speculation. A good time was had by all and I appreciated the night out. Rather than show you pics of people that I'll probably never see again, I put them on a Flickr account instead. For some reason, they uploaded in reverse order, so to see the first picture, you'll have to go to page 4 and work backwards. The highlight was when I bumped into a waitress who spilled an entire tray of drinks on a Canadian guy! Why she insisted on gathering up broken glass with her bare hand is beyond me.
It was fun, but not as fun as this...
Back to the evening, the Liga gang really appreciated the business when I showed up with 25-30 people on their doorstep for the 2nd party. It took a while for them to start singing but once they did, they were okay. Later in the night though, one of my old Pirate homies showed up and belted out a few tunes much to the amazement of the crowd.
I also reacquainted myself with Haruka. I hope to see her again...
After they left another couple came in with matching panther tattoos that they insist were drawn independently before they'd met. Ahh, young love.

She proceeded to get very intoxicated and flirtatious and spilled a record 3 drinks and stumbled her way out but not before slipping me her # and showing off a few other tatts. Since she started to get violent near the end, I don't think I'll be calling her anytime soon.
I wasn't quite ready to retire, so I chatted up the last 3 damsels in the place and finally made it home at 5. Ahh, vacation life!

Animal Crackers.
I also got a box of Animal Crackers. What you see here is the result of two opened boxes and here are the mammals I got.(From Left to Right:) polar bear シロクマ (shiro-kuma, literally "white bear"); wild boar イノシシ (inoshishi); bear 熊 (kuma); cow 牛 (ushi); rabbit ウサギ (usagi); horse 馬 (uma); tapir バク (baku); rhinoceros サイ (sai); elephant ゾウ (zou); raccoon アライグマ (arai-guma, literally "washing bear"); bat コウモリ (koumori); bear (oops: kuma #2); sheep 羊 (hitsuji); deer シカ (shika); porcupine ヤマアラシ (yama-arashi, literally "mountain storm!"); cow (oops: ushi #2); lynx オオヤマネコ (oo-yama-neko, literally "large mountain cat", sorry I broke it!); squirrel リス (risu); monkey サル (saru).
(Click on the picture to make it ZOO-sized!)
Here are the birds that I received.horned owl アメリカワシミミズク (amerika-washi mimi-zuku, literally, "American eagle with ear shaped feathers"); hawk タカ (taka); macaw
コンゴウインコ (congou-inko, literally, "golden parrot"); eagle ワシ (washi); parrot オウム(oumu); pigeon ハト (hato); peafowl クジャク (kujaku); duck アヒル (ahiru).
Of course I got several doubles, but who'd have thought that I'd get four cocks (the puerile adolescent in me couldn't resist.) A rooster (cock) is known as おんどり (ondori) here and the famous cock-a-doodle-doo cry is a more realistic コケコッコ (ko-ke-kokko).Because I'm talking about Animal Crackers, I need to make mention of the comic strip and I had to include Groucho's famous tune, "Hello, I Must Be Going" from the 1930 movie.
For no particular reason apart from the fact that I adore the tune, check out Lydia The Tattooed Lady, sung by Groucho and the same tune sung by Kermit! (Purists, hold your horses, I know that the song is from At the Circus, not Animal Crackers!

Brit's Don't Quit!
The British invasion happened at Shaft on Friday and it was a pretty rocking event. I don't think as many people came as desired, but those who did were appreciative of some darn good tunes, courtesy of DJs Mixture, Jools, Ed and Mokugohan (and some guys I don't know.)
Mixture, a Brit by birth but not by girth, spun via cds for a change for his normal repetoire of funky dance music includes very little music from the Motherland.

Jools (on the right), the baldest and boldest of the bunch, had a bit of vinyl, but he too had to succomb to those laser-enhanced discs. Ed, the man with the plan, who flew all the way from England for this event, (of course, he also organized it) played a magnificent set of Brit-rock new & old. These two have both moved onto greener pastures, but they were the founding fathers of Shaft. What a legacy!

Fortunately Mokugohan weaseled his way into a gig, sure he's not British, but we Canucks are Colonists (the dang Queen is on our currency). Thank God he showed up, for I suspect that he was the only DJ of the night who used only vinyl. His first half was all the cool esoteric stuff that he's famous for, and then for his second half got the dance floor packed with the likes of New Order and Blur. Alas, his bit got cut short due to some miscommunication, for he was just starting to rock the joint.

Aussie Ando & Canuck Rob representing the colonies.

Guy whose name I always forget (John?...it's something unusual like that) and another guy.

Akari brought a friend.
Apple sporting his Tattoos.
Ed's wife, Ayako in the centre, flanked by Mizuho & Noburo. They used to come to every Echophonyk event back in the Stefan era, but haven't returned since he moved to Vancouver.

Apple Mixture...Mmmm. Yummy!

Ando making the moves on Akari.

You should be dancing, yeah.

I am your father!

Darth Mixture dies an ignominious death.

Is that Jabba with a light sabre?

I left early (alone!) due to an upset tummy from a nasty Barium cocktail that I had earlier in the day for a health check at work.
We Echo-types need to organize our own Brit night. Only we'll invite other countries to play as well.

A very fetching Akari. Check out the autographed Monkey Majik poster behind her.
