Just A Momen.

一反木綿 (いったんもめん=Ittan-momen or Ghost Cotton)  a 10.6  metre (1-反/tan ) roll of cloth that haunts the Kagoshima-Ken area. One who walks down the street at night may be attacked by a roll of white cloth that falls from the sky. It entwines around your head and neck, suffocating you. Although it looks as though it could be a Tsukume-Gami, it appears to be more of a transforming shapeshifter.

In the Gegege series, it has become a far more benevolent spectre that transports Kitaro & the gang like a flying carpet. Here are a few examples of the cloth from my collection.
