I saw Dreamgirls yesterday and it reigns Supreme. The production numbers were amazing but only when they were a part of the show. I found the segue expositional songs to be dull, albeit well sung. Eddie Murphy has finally taken on a role worthy of his talents and not more crappy Disney family fare. Add a little James Brown, a dash of Stevie Wonder, a pinch of Marvin Gaye and a heaping portion of Classic Eddie. Mix well and you get a deserving nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
Beyonce was beautiful, Foxx was nasty, Glover was wasted and newcomer Idol-reject Jennifer Hudson is going places. Wait and see.
