Golden Godzilla Goodies!

Once again, Golden Week has come upon us and to celebrate I thought I'd showcase some of the cards I've collected over the years. First up are some of the scariest Monsters to ever take over Japan and then there'll be some Kaiju!

Unbearable!

Feeling Gloomy? How about the kid who owns this bear? As the interviewer points out in the following YouTube, Gloomy (and other characters were created by 森チャック (Mori Chakku) and has taken Japan by storm. You can find his bloody paws in every UFO Catch machine and I was lucky enough to win a giant Gloomy Clock in a Conbini draw a while back so I thought I'd share some of the graphics with you.

I can't believe that I never blogged about this before. This set came out over a year ago and features Warner Brothers movies (and one TV show) as represented by BE@RBRICKs. I showed off my StarWars BE@RBRICKs a while ago, but this is the first time for me to feature this set. We have 2 Super-Bears, a Bat-Bear & Joker, 300, V For Vendetta, AI, Happy Feet, Matrix, OC (very lame), Charlie and the Chocolate Family and Bruce Frick'n Lee from Enter The Dragon! Somewhere, I have a 20th Century Fox set and starting next week, PepsiZero will start a DreamWorks set! So much for cutting back on my collecting...

If you insist, I'll take them out of the package and re-scan them but, for now, here's a better view.

Swelled Heads.

This set of big-headed ゴジラ・ヒーローズ (Gojira-Heroes) is one of my favourites. It's actually the first time that I can tolerate ミニラ!










Here are some badly scanned images of the set, but to buy your own set, you'll have to drop about a 100 bucks! That of course includes the Secret item which is 轟天号とマンダ (Manda which I don't have! It's SOOO sweet!) Without Manda, it's only about 40 dollars, so he must be quite rare! Here in no particular order are the 20 that I have acquired.




My personal favourite is King Caesar. Who's yours and how many can you name?

Tra-La!

I finally braved the cold this afternoon and wandered through つつじヶ丘公園 (Tsutsujigaoka Park) snapping photos of 桜 (Sakura=Cherry Blossoms) willy nilly. Unlike previous years, I didn't attend a 花見 (Hanami party) and flake out on a tarp, drink copious amounts of booze while contemplating the fleetingness of life as attributed to the falling of petals. Rather...I just took pics of lots of blossoms and flowers. Following a brief YouTube, here they are.
