Pumpkin Wrecks.

I mentioned in the last post that I found a cheapish pumpkin, just right for carving into the perfect Jack o' Lantern. When I got it home, I discovered that it was afflicted with kabi. (Mould!)

It was soft and mushy. This will be a tough carve. At least I got some funky face stickers!

And a cool box.

So around 10:00 am, I put on some Twitch movies (starting with The House on Haunted Hill, I know this movie well, so I don't need to pay much attention) and researched some templates hoping to salvage this gourd.

I chose my quarry and starting digging into my kabocha. I had an awful lot of mould to excise.

Lots of seeds and guts later, I was underway.

(By this time, HoHH was over and the next movie, Gargoyles, had begun.)

More cutting and it started to look a bit like its template. (Fast forward, lots of cutting and scooping and swearing and now it's time for the third movie, Queen of Blood.) I'd never seen QoB and say is that Dennis Hopper? John Saxon too!

I'm done and using this movie as a soundtrack, filmed a three second video. I showed that plus some photos to a few friends and they were unable to identify my creation.

Oh well. I decided to do a ton of laundry and wait until dark so I can get a better view of my sculpture.

Have you got it yet? Think of as being green and watch this short. Still no go? Thus the title of today's post, Pumpkin Wrecks.

I'll identify it later...

I watched the latest episode of Fear of the Walking Dead and though not great, it was still better than Daryl!

I popped a beer and watched the new colourized version of Werewolf by Night.

Damn! It wasn't in colour! Oh well. This will become an annual Halloween experience for me.
And then drank another one while I organized my socks and watched SNL. (I actually smiled once or twice, as opposed to last weeks yawnfest. Highlights, Mick Frickn Jagger!!)

I should have saved the 9-tailed Fox for the same day as a Werewolf. Oh well.

No matter, let me introduce Nuppeppo. He just an ugly lump of flesh (much like my pumpkin guts!)  He also stinks and if you hear his song, you'll instantly turn into an old man. (HA! Too late!)

Today's Venom. (I hope I'm not repeating any.) Ooh. Sparkly!

I shall now reveal the template of my Pumpkin. Did I do it justice?

More pumpkins over at fellow Blogger, October Branches. No wrecks there!

Until I saw your pumpkin lit up, I thought it had the face of one of the Peanut characters or something...but once you turned the lights out I could guess what it was supposed to be! So it must be a good effort! :)

You're right. Unlit, it does give off a Peanuts flair. I'm glad someone figured it out...
