I just got back from watching ウルフマン and it was aaaoooosome! Any movie that starts with Maria Ouspenskaya's "Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright." Charlie Chaplin's daughter, Geraldine did an admirable rereading.
Benicio was terrific and even channelled Chaney in a few scenes. It was so nice to see a monster movie with limited CGI (I'm talking to you Underworld) and excellent makeup by Rick Baker. I hope they use Pepsiman in the sequel!
Spoiler alert: 19
A follow-up to 1973's Okami no monsho was an odd Sonny Chiba movie called Moero Okami-otoko (1975) and here is a preview:
Lest we forget one of 代物くん's companions was オオカミ男 (Wolfman). Enjoy!
There was a live version! It looks terrible...I really want to see it!
