The Soul Life dude said I could only play "Black" music if I spin there, but no Detroit techno or Chicago house. I guess he needs to hear genuine black people in his music for it to be 100% authentic. But some of the tunes I heard there had less soul than some of my records produced by white Brits. Our man at Echo sent a memo that said no underground or hardcore- only classic, known dance music. I know I should expect this sort of thing already but I still find it slightly sinister. Man, this bullsh**t really fuels my passion towards putting on another event.
