Much to America's surprise, the Greek team overwhelmed them in the FIBA World Basketball Championship Finals held here in Japan (Saitama.) So they'll be dribbling against the Spaniards tomorrow for the cup, while the Americans hoop it up with the Argentinean for third place.Alas, Japan didn't even make it past the 8th round, winning only one game and Canada was nowhere to be seen in the event (no big shock here but fairly pitiful seeing as a Canadian helped invent the sport.) Personally, I couldn't give two hoots as to who wins, being one of rather Lilliputian stature. Basketball is just an overpaid sport played by the more pituitary-advantaged Brobdingnagians.
But it would have been cool if Host Japan had made it a bit further...
