You There! The Ides of March Have Come!
Back in Grade 8, my first soiree onto the Stage was in a History class production of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. I insisted on a lead, but my petit stature relegated me to the Soothsayer. So I had 3 lines.
"Beware the Ides of March!"
"Beware the Ides of March!"
Caesar: "You there! The Ides of March have come!"
"Aye, Caesar. But not gone!"
I was heavily made up as an old man and delivered my lines with gusto and a raspy voice. I thought I was great, much better than the actual leads!
